00:002025 kicked off to a festive start for many regions around the world. For the first weekend
00:10of the new year, the night sky has a celestial fireworks show you don't want to miss.
00:15Be sure to get up for the peak of the Quadrantid meteor shower early on the morning of January
00:193rd. The best time to view the shower is before dawn. Unlike most meteor showers, the Quadrantid's
00:26peak is very brief, lasting only six hours. Although the event is short, the shower is
00:31known to produce as many as 100 meteors per hour under ideal conditions. This shower favors
00:37the northern hemisphere because its radiant point is located near the Big Dipper, far
00:41to the north of the Sky's Dome. For the best viewing conditions, find a dark area away
00:45from city lights, and make sure you always check the weather for cloud cover before heading
00:49outside, which you can do by visiting AccuWeather.com or by downloading the AccuWeather app. Reporting
