00:00The Bureau of Immigration has launched manhunt operations in the thousands of remote areas that were previously operated by POGO that are still here in the country.
00:09The details of the country's news was reported by Luisa Erispe of PTV Manila.
00:16Because 2024 is over, the hardships of foreign nationals who used to work in Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators or POGO that are still in the country are also over.
00:27But the Bureau of Immigration said that there are still hard-headed people who did not leave the country before January 1 and this is in 11,000 remote areas.
00:38Whether you downgraded or not, you are now together with the illegal aliens.
00:44We will only be able to tag them as illegal aliens if they missed the December 31 deadline.
00:50Because of the hardships, these foreigners were forced to surrender.
00:54The government is already conducting a large-scale manhunt operation to deport thousands of foreigners.
01:01The B.I. has already helped the National Bureau of Investigation and local governments to track them one by one.
01:09We are also conducting manhunt operations to track them, especially if they are conducting smaller operations here, which is what we fear.
01:23If their companies target them, they may be charged. We can sue them for harboring illegal aliens.
01:32We will help our intelligence division in the regional arms of our intelligence, the local law enforcement units.
01:42According to the Department of Interior and local government, they will ask each LGU to prove that there is no foreign POGO worker living in their area.
01:51We have already told the local governments that they are responsible for checking all the buildings,
01:58all the occupancy permits, all the electrical permits, all the fire safety permits,
02:05to see if they have full capacity to enter all the buildings in their localities.
02:12Meanwhile, the Office of the Solicitor General is also moving to cancel the pecking of birth certificates
02:19that were obtained by some foreigners in the country.
02:21The OSG will also check one by one the copies of the birth certificates that were illegally obtained.
02:27There were OSG samples arising from the Quadcom hearings last year,
02:35in both cancellation proceedings and civil forfeiture proceedings.
02:41But the OSG hopes that the Congress will pass a law that will help them in canceling the birth certificates
02:48because they will be able to spend P75 million for the thousands of cancellation cases.
02:54If the OSG gives them the power to cancel the birth certificates,
02:58the process will be faster and will be less expensive.
03:02From PTV, Luisa Erispe, for Balitang Pambansa.
