00:00How are you doing?
00:14Such a long time.
00:16Immortal time.
00:30Just for recourse, your name and what do you do?
00:45I'm a member of the Tibetan Parliament in exile.
00:46Well, Namjala, we can see China is escalating transnational restrictions now.
00:47Recently, a Canadian, Canada-based organization has been imposing sanctions.
00:48How do you see this?
00:49What is your reaction to this?
00:50I see this as a definite threat that China is extending for a nation that holds a veto
01:06power in the Security Council of the United Nations.
01:09For it to be so scared of an independent organization working in Canada, it basically
01:20shows how it remains scared.
01:23Despite being this dictatorial regime, any sort of voices against it is being looked
01:28upon as a threat.
01:30I believe that such an important nation that holds a Security Council position to take
01:36such a decision.
01:37So far, we have only seen it come up with sanctions against member of parliaments around
01:44the world.
01:45But it's for the first time that we have seen it imposing sanctions on an NGO and individuals
01:52working there.
01:53So it is just very shameful on the part of China.
01:58But then it's China, so what else to expect?
02:01What is threatening in a way is the fact that I see this sort of trend spreading across
02:10different countries.
02:11There are possibilities that any form of voices against Chinese Communist Party will be treated
02:18the same way it started off with Canada.
02:20It will extend to different nations, including India.
02:23This is how I look at it.
02:25There are so many NGOs, Tibet-based NGOs in India who are working constantly in exposing
02:31China and I see that as a coming trend in the near future.
02:36Definitely.
02:37Of course.
02:38This is just an extension of the crony voting school and the syllabuses that they have been
02:51coming out with all these years.
02:54I don't want to generalise that, but definitely it's the same policy and perhaps we didn't
03:00know about it earlier.
03:01That is the only difference.
03:04Otherwise, I don't see that it's any different story per se.
03:09Have a good day.
03:10You too.
03:11Good New Year.
03:54What is your reaction to this?
04:00This shows how far the Chinese Communist regime's hands can go.
04:06Because when we say Tibet is reeling through atrocity and subjugation, and not only they
04:13are satisfied with occupation of Tibetan land and controlling the Tibetan people inside
04:18Tibet, but their hand is also reaching out beyond the boundaries.
04:23Therefore, we see that Chinese policies are meant not only within what China has occupied,
04:30but even in the free world also, they are making the people fearful of what they do
04:40in the free world.
04:42Therefore, putting sanctions on Tibetan community society and the Uyghur community society in
04:52Canada is just an example.
04:55Even within Tibetan refugees also, those who have their relatives there.
