The Malaysian Armed Forces has confirmed that the commotion involving Palestinians at Wisma Transit Kuala Lumpur on Saturday stemmed from their wish to expedite their return to Palestine.

In a statement on Sunday (Jan 5), the Armed Forces said the incident was managed to be resolved around 7pm, with no fights or injuries reported.

00:31outside the premises.
00:35In a statement on Sunday, the Armed Forces said the incident occurred at about 5pm, when
00:40a group of Palestinians wanted the processing of their application to return home to be
00:45sped up.
00:46The Armed Forces also stated that the incident was managed to be resolved around 7pm, with
00:52no fights or injuries reported.
00:55However, there was minor damage to the facility's furniture.
00:59The public are urged not to speculate the incident.
01:04A similar incident occurred in October last year, when a Palestinian woman caused a commotion
01:09with her family and friends over being denied from leaving the premises.
01:14The group is part of the 127 Palestinians brought to Malaysia for medical treatment
01:20last August 16.
01:21Following the incident, an apology was issued by Palestinian Ambassador to Malaysia Waleed
01:27Abu Ali.
