00:07The 18th Prabhasi Bharatiya Devas Convention will be formally inaugurated by the Honorable
00:12Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi ji on 9th of January. Her Excellency, Crystal Karla
00:20Kangalu, ORTT, the President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobacco, will be the chief guest of
00:28the 18th Prabhasi Bharatiya Devas and she would be virtually addressing the convention. Dr. Dev
00:35Prabhak, CEO and co-founder of Newsweek, will be the guest of honor at the Youth Prabhasi Bharatiya
00:44Devas on 8th January. We will have ministerial level delegations from Mauritius, Malaysia and
00:53South Africa and big delegations of diaspora from several other countries, including from
01:01Malaysia, Mauritius, Oman, Qatar, UAE, UK and USA. There would be five plenary sessions,
01:11which would be chaired by union ministers and moderated by eminent Indians from their
01:17respective fields. The Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi has given us the
01:25vision of a Vixit Bharat by 2047. We have taken the initiative of not only sharing this vision
01:35with our esteemed diaspora, but have also urged them to partner our journey towards this
01:42cherished goal. The Indian diaspora has an important role to play in the vision of Vixit
01:49Bharat. It acts as a living bridge between their motherland and their adopted homeland. That is why
01:57the Government of India has chosen the diaspora's contribution to Vixit Bharat as the overarching
02:05theme of the 18th Prabhasi Bharatiya Diwas. Now, coming to the program of the convention,
02:14the Youth Prabhasi Bharatiya Diwas would be celebrated on the first day, that is the 8th
02:20of January. It will be jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the
02:26Government of India in partnership with the Ministry of External Affairs. Honorable Chief
02:32Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohit Chatterjee, Honorable Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports,
02:38Dr. Mansukh Manviyaji, Honorable External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jayashankar, MOS for External
02:45Affairs, Shri Pavitra Margareta and the Guest of Honour, Dr. Dev Pragad will all address the
02:52Indian diaspora delegates at the Prabhasi Bharatiya Youth Convention. The inauguration of the Youth
03:01PBB will be followed by a special plenary session on the theme titled, Beyond Borders,
03:08Diaspora, Youth Leadership in a Globalized World. This will be chaired by the Honorable Minister of
03:15Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mantia. As a parallel event, the Honorable Chief Minister
03:22of Odisha and the Honorable External Affairs Minister would be chairing a business session
03:28with the business community of the Visiting Indian Diaspora.
03:35On the afternoon of the first day, the State Government of Odisha would be hosting two
03:40plenary sessions. The first one is called, Unraveling India's Best Kept Secret and the
03:48second one is titled, Odisha, a Land of Opportunities. At these two sessions,
03:55the State Government of Odisha would showcase the enormous potential that could be harnessed by the
04:02Indian diaspora in Odisha through their engagements in developing and promoting tourism, trade,
04:11investments in different sectors such as textiles and garments, forest products, health care,
04:18pharma, food processing and startups. The State Government of Odisha would also offer the PBD
04:26delegates an opportunity to have a glimpse and feel of its rich cultural heritage embodied in
04:35its intrinsic and diverse art forms and its different popular festivals by conducting
04:41their visits to several places of touristic and cultural attractions near Bhubaneswar.
