00:00I am Somajit Patnaik, I am from Kalinga TV. My question is, we are, so to the Chief Secretary,
00:09we are showcasing Orissa for investments. So are we looking at diversified investment?
00:16Because whenever we speak of investments, we are looking at mineral based industries
00:21only. So what kind of sectors, like what are the diversified sectors we are looking at
00:27for investment, especially from this, from the diaspora? Thank you.
00:31I think regarding the investment question, we will take it for Utkarshurisa. I think
00:42we can discuss in detail there, because that would be the matter there. But rest assured,
00:46we are not, we are looking for a diversified investment. The second point which you raised,
00:50I think, you see it's very important, that is why we have made efforts and tried to involve
00:56and get people to make it their own event for the citizens of Bhubaneswar.
01:02And also we have had specific people attached with everybody, in case they have special requests.
01:09People, if they are from Orissa and they may have studied in a school, they want special requests,
01:13we will also take that into consideration and make arrangements for them. Plus, besides the delegates,
01:19this time we have created enough space for local participants, who because of reasons and all,
01:25we have invited all the eminent people and others, we are inviting through special
01:29invitations, so that they can also participate in this event.
01:33Yeah, thank you. Okay, the question that you raised, see, 18 sessions, this is going to be there, 17 sessions have been held.
01:42Today the Indian diaspora is more than 35 million across the globe and they play a major role working as,
01:52as I mentioned in my statement, living bridges between the country where they are today staying and working
01:59and their motherland, which is here over India. This diaspora that we have is one of our biggest strengths when we are there.
02:11If you would ask me, then the amount of remittances that India receives today, they are the largest in terms of remittances that come.
02:21And our diaspora is one of the biggest contributors. Our diaspora plays a major role in promoting the Indian culture also abroad.
02:30And Government of India here, we encourage them also to work with our Indian missions that are there, our ambassadors,
02:40over there, with whom they are able to promote and propagate the Indian culture.
02:47You can, you will hear, you know, festivals, Indian festivals being organized in various parts of the world.
02:53And that is happening thanks to the growing Indian diaspora. So, if I would say, economically, they are connected,
03:01socially they are connected, culturally they are connected, but they are in a different country, in a different offshore country.
03:09But somewhere the links are there. And if you recall, the Honourable Prime Minister himself has described them as the Rashtra dudes.
03:17He says that, you know, you are our true ambassadors who are posted abroad.
03:23So, therefore, the strength of the Indian diaspora is immense. This is all I can add.
03:31Sir, can you get a copy of your statement because you lost a number of points.
03:36Can you get a copy of your statement because you lost a number of points.
03:40Sir, it has not been there.
03:43Also, you know, our, this press conference will be available digitally on MEI, MEI's YouTube channel.
03:51So, you can have that. And the transcript also will be on our website.
03:55So, with that, we come to the closure of this press briefing. Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen.
04:04We look forward to being in touch with you over the next few days to carry the story of the diaspora,
04:10of Ravasis here in India and the story of Odisha to every nook and corner of our world. Thank you very much.
