00:00Hi there. For the vast majority, it's a cold but bright winter's day and it's going to
00:07be sunny for the vast majority as well. But it's going to continue to feel cold and there
00:13will continue to be some wintry showers, sleet and snow showers continuing to move into the
00:18north of Scotland. One or two peppering the coast of Northern Ireland, North and West
00:22Wales, North West England and the South West. These are the exceptions. For most though,
00:26you can see cloud free skies but feeling cold. Temperatures of three or four Celsius
00:31typically in the south, zero to two Celsius further north below freezing where we've got
00:36snow cover and any modest elevation. And that means that under clear skies as soon as the
00:42sun goes down, temperatures will plummet overnight. We'll also see some freezing fog patches
00:47form particularly for Northern Ireland, parts of Wales into the Midlands for example. And
00:53temperatures, well, fairly widely at minus three to minus five Celsius but where we've
00:59got snow cover, for example, Northern England, parts of Scotland, we could see minus 15,
01:04minus 16, minus 17. One exception, the far south west where a band of rain will move
01:10in and that's going to lead to milder weather in Cornwall, parts of Devon as we begin Friday
01:14but the rain falling onto frozen surfaces could cause some slippery surfaces and a few
01:21more flakes of snow likely above 150 metres. So Dartmoor, for example, three, four centimetres
01:28possible once again on Friday morning. But elsewhere it will be rain and a risk of ice
01:33during the morning. That tends to fizzle out by the afternoon and other than some freezing
01:37fog patches persisting into the late morning, early afternoon period, for many it's another
01:42dry and bright day but it's going to feel cold out there. Temperatures in some places
01:46not rising above zero or one Celsius. And that leads us on to another very cold night
01:52on Friday night under this ridge of high pressure. That's going to lead to widespread frost and
01:58some icy patches once again going into the start of the weekend. Again, an exception
02:02there, the far west of the UK with a weather front bringing clouds so a milder start but
02:07also eventually moving milder air in, first of all in the north and then later by the
02:13start of next week into the south as well.
