00:00There has been a lot of hype about the HNPV virus for the past few days.
00:09We have held a meeting here, specifically in the MS office.
00:20The precautions we have taken for the hospital,
00:24we have set up a sampling area for it.
00:29The sampling area will be on the third floor of our outpatient department OPD, Chaudhary Arnabir Singh OPD.
00:37We have circulated it to all concerned doctors and staff nurses.
00:43First, we have done this.
00:45Second, we have done this by means of propaganda that our doctors will sit in the OPD
00:54and will tell the public that there is no need to panic about the HNPV virus.
01:02Basically, the infection lasts for a period of 2 to 5 days.
01:07And what happens in the routine is that the nose is slightly closed or the nose is swollen, slight fever, sore throat.
01:17So, in the period of 2 to 5 days, we give it a sportive treatment.
01:21We give fever reliever pills or sportive medicines for cough.
01:25As such, no specific medicine is available.
01:28So, first, we have specifically told not to panic at all.
01:31Secondly, I would like to tell that basically, in children under 2 years of age,
01:37who are infants, our group of infants and in children under 2 years of age,
01:42the rate of infection remains a little high or the geriatric population, our elderly people,
01:50the rate of infection remains high or those who are immunocompromised,
01:55those who are taking cancer chemotherapy or those who are cancer patients or those who are suffering from diabetes or those who are suffering from heart failure.
02:03So, all these things, we will make the common people aware and will tell them.
02:08Secondly, we will also tell the common people to avoid crowded conditions.
02:12Because the virus, basically, for this, the winter season, to spread the virus,
02:18there is suddenly a lot, in which the virus spreads.
02:22So, we have done this.
02:24Secondly, we have all the laboratory facilities, for this, to test for the virus,
02:30are ready, in our Microbiology Department.
02:34And one thing we have done is that, now, as we take the precautions,
02:39in step 1, in our emergency, we have also designated an isolation room, room number 6.
02:47A patient comes, who needs support, needs Oxygen,
02:52which is very less, we believe, that such a situation will be created,
02:56so soon, so much will happen.
02:58So, we have also prepared an isolation room.
03:01Are there any suspected cases, whose sampling you are getting done?
03:05Now, there is nothing like this here, but with time, we see that if needed,
03:11then the sampling, all our system is ready.
03:15Secondly, for Ventilator Support,
03:18in our Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine, we have also designated some beds,
03:23that the patients, who need Ventilator Support,
03:27that patient, there, we will keep them separately, for Ventilator Support.
03:31But, till now, nothing?
03:33Till now, everything is fine, all the systems are fine.
03:36Sir, people have passed through COVID-19, how is it different from that,
03:41because in COVID-19, there was a lot of fear for people.
03:45See, in COVID-19, there was a lot of drug, it is a severe virus,
03:50COVID-19 spreads very fast, and for that, there is no age bar,
03:55as I have told you, for this, that this group is more prone,
04:00and its infection rate is also high,
04:03comparatively, the fatality rate is also high,
04:07and in this, the mortality rate is very less.
04:12Okay, in COVID-19, the recovery rate was also high,
04:15like we had Long COVID Syndrome,
04:18so, all those things are not there in this.
04:21Mode of Transmission is almost same,
04:23like from Droplet Infection, or from Surface Infection, or in Crowded Condition.
04:28But, there is no such case fatality,
04:31normally, the normal, whose immune system is there, there is not much in that.
04:35So, this is very different from COVID-19, from that angle.
