00:00Are you pleased with this outcome?
00:01Yes, I think the outcome is positive, first of all because it puts an end to a more than
00:08two year vacancy in the Lebanese presidency.
00:12Finally, Lebanon has a president and without a president not only there is no solid executive
00:19power but also parliament cannot pass and vote law.
00:24So the entire government was completely blocked.
00:28So this is good news.
00:29It's good news even more because the new president, Joseph Aoun, is a respected person and I believe
00:38he will do good for the country.
00:41He will do some good work.
00:42He has, you know, exposed, displayed his stances, his main political vision through his speech
00:49that was widely acclaimed as finally a good, solid political vision for the country.
00:56So overall, I think it is positive for the country.
01:00I think most of the parliament supported him, you know, 99 votes out of 128.
01:05And I think also that a very large part of the Lebanese public opinion is supportive
01:11of Joseph Aoun as well as a large part of the international community.
