00:00The coroner said there just isn't any true guidance on how to do this safely
00:06and there are safe ways to use slings, but mums and dads who are buying these slings because they
00:12seem an easy way to have your baby close to you, have that skin-on-skin time, you can feel them
00:18all the time, there's no way of really knowing when it becomes dangerous. Is that the issue
00:26essentially, that there was just no, you had a leaflet but it didn't really tell you what was
00:30safe and what wasn't? Yeah I think what we found through the inquest process is that there is
00:34a lack of clear information for parents on how to do these things, so if you look on say frequently
00:39asked questions, can you breastfeed in this, it will say yes and that's it, it won't tell you
00:44how to do it. Is it suitable for newborns, yeah, to lower the baby's breast level, to breastfeed
00:50and to loosen the carrier and printed on the carrier it said don't wear it too tight, but
00:55actually what came out of the inquest process was that actually it's very difficult to get it
01:00too tight because you'd feel that it's too tight and the actual bigger risk is if it's too loose.
