00:00President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. appoints Geraldine Faith Ekong as the new presiding justice of the Sandigan Bayan on January 7.
00:08Ekong replaces the retired Amparo Cabotaje Tang.
00:11She will oversee the Anti-Graft Court responsible for prosecuting high-ranking officials in cases involving corruption, plunder, and related crimes.
00:19Ekong previously served as an associate justice of the Sandigan Bayan and chaired its 2nd Division.
00:24She has a distinguished legal and judicial career handling high-profile cases.
00:27This includes the Pork Barrel Scam where she voted to acquit Senator Bong Revilla and dismiss charges against Juan Ponce Enrile.
00:34She was also the author of the ruling that dismissed the Coconut Levy cases against the Marcos family and other businessmen.
