07:36Let's take a short break, don't go away.
08:36We'll be back with more on January the 20th.
08:39Moving on, in the United States, a death toll rises to 10 and more than 10,000 structures
08:56burned after the active fires in Los Angeles since last Tuesday.
09:01The latest fatalities reported to the fire in the city of Palisades, an area where the
09:08average property value is around $3 million.
09:10According to the California Department of Fire Protection, today more than 11,000 hectares
09:16have been burned.
09:17In this regard, authorities have warned that the number of deaths might increase and that,
09:22according to professional estimates, the material damage is between $135 and $150 billion.
09:30Recent information has confirmed that the existence of a new fire known as Kenneth,
09:39which has quickly spread to some 320 hectares near the border of Los Angeles and Ventura.
09:46Kenneth has generated mandatory evacuation orders, as well as considerable damage in
09:51several areas of the city, and adds to the wave of active fires since January the 7th.
09:57In Ecuador, the Secretary General to the National Assembly, Alejandro Muñoz, denounced on Friday
10:17the death threat made by President Daniel Lavoie on the brink of elections, and aimed
10:23at a political and institutional crisis.
10:25Lately, the Ecuadorian President Daniel Lavoie had filed a lawsuit against senior legislator
10:30Alejandro Muñoz before the Public Prosecutor's Office for an alleged usurpation of public
10:35functions.
10:36Lavoie's allegations came after the parliamentarians rejected his proposed decree.
10:41Muñoz described such a proposal as unconstitutional as Lavoie intended Vice President Abad not
10:46to replace him during his leave, suggesting to be outed by Gallibert.
10:52Afterwards, the President has pursued a coercive policy against Muñoz, making the latter feared
10:59for his safety and that of his family.
11:08Ecuadorians, I have been notified today of a lawsuit filed against me by the President
11:12of the Republic Daniel Novoa.
11:16So the grounds of such complaint is for the alleged crime of simulation and usurpation
11:20of official functions due to the fact that yesterday I was strictly fulfilling my duties
11:24as Secretary General and by express disposition of the President of the National Assembly.
11:30I proceeded to notify the rejection of the Executive Decree No. 500, by means of which
11:35the President of the Republic requested a leave and proposed who shall oust him, arguing
11:43he was complying with the electoral campaign's procedures.
11:51In Argentina, security forces and government officials carried out an operation to evade
11:55the Mapuche lawful Pailaco community, settled in Los Arceles National Park, Chibut Province.
12:02Dozens of vehicles and police forces entered this Thursday to evade the communities, which
12:09initiated a process of territorial reformation in 2020 in lands that they had ancestrally occupied.
12:20The massive operation included the presence of top officials supported by Security Minister
12:26Patricia Bullrich, the Governor of Chibut, Ignacio Torres, and the President of the National
12:31Park Administration.
12:33The officials celebrated, made sure that as a victory for the right-wing government,
12:37and anticipated that there would be more evictions.
12:40Several analysts described the incident as a repressive show justified by the history
12:46of the internal enemy and the criminalization of the territorial claims of the Mapuche people.

13:30Welcome back.
13:41A research published on Thursday in the medical journal The Lancet revealed that the death
13:47toll from Israel's genocidal war against the Palestinian people is far higher than
13:53current international estimates.
13:55Academics estimate that during the first nine months of the conflict, the death toll
13:59from the war in Gaza would have been 64,260, significantly higher than the 37,877 deaths
14:10reported by the Palestinian authorities.
14:12These studies relied on Palestinian Ministry of Statistics and online survey and social
14:18media obituaries to estimate that there have been between 55,298 and 78,525 deaths from
14:30traumatic injuries in Gaza at that time.
14:32It is important to note that the group of researchers estimate that 59% of the deaths
14:37composed women, children, and the elderly, and that the figure referred only to deaths
14:44from traumatic injuries without including other causes of death.
14:52Poland requests the government to ensure that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
14:59participates in the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp and is not detained for
15:04war crimes in Gaza.
15:05Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that whether it is his counterpart, the President
15:11or the Education Minister of Israel, whoever becomes the owner of Auschwitz, that the Auschwitz
15:18commemorations can be ensured that they will be safe and will not be detained.
15:23In November, the International Criminal Court issued a warrant for Netanyahu and his former
15:28Defense Minister Joachim Gallen, as well as Hamas Commander Ibrahim al-Marsi, also known
15:34as Mohammed Daif, on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity, named the genocidal
15:40operation in Gaza.
15:48In South Korea, the head of the Presidential Security Service Park Chung-yoon testified
15:53on Friday before the agency investigating President Jun Suk-yeo.
15:58In his statements, Park assured that there should be no physical confrontations or blowsheets
16:03under any circumstances referring to the tense moments between the corruption investigations
16:10for high-ranking officials and the Presidential Security Service.
16:15In reference to Chung-yoon's current situation, Park considered that, although the President
16:20was dismissed by the Parliament on December 14 for his failed declaration on martial law,
16:26he is on paper still the head of the state and government until the Constitutional Court
16:32determines whether or not...
