00:00We are still together on MEDIEN TV, thank you for remaining faithful to us.
00:20Here are the titles of your newspaper.
00:22The Moroccan people celebrate today the 91st anniversary of the presentation of the Independence Manifesto,
00:29a historic event for freedom, sovereignty and the completion of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.
00:39Beirut and Damascus are committed to opening a new chapter in their relationship.
00:43The Lebanese Prime Minister was on visit.
00:47This Saturday in Syria, Najib Mikati was received by the new Syrian leader, Ahmad al-Sharif.
00:55The work of the 1st African Congress of Payment continues in Casablanca,
01:01a three-day event that focuses on medical and epidemiological advances related in particular to the health of children.
01:13We start this newspaper in the Kingdom, where we celebrate today the 91st anniversary of the presentation of the Independence Manifesto,
01:22a historic event for freedom, sovereignty and the completion of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.
01:32The presentation of the Independence Manifesto,
01:35an essential highlight of which the struggle for freedom and national sovereignty.
01:40This anniversary, deeply rooted in the memory of all Moroccans,
01:44by the profound meanings it embodies, symbolizes the high values of the national awakening
01:49and the strong symbiosis between the throne and the people,
01:52to defend the constants of the nation and anticipate the future with confidence and serenity.
02:05The Moroccan people celebrate the 91st anniversary of the presentation of the Independence Manifesto on January 11, 1944,
02:13a key event in the history of the national struggle for the independence of the Kingdom and the defense of its sacred values.
02:19It should also be remembered that this document is the fruit, the symbiosis of continuous efforts, dispensed by an entire people.
02:35The Independence Manifesto included a set of political claims,
02:39including the independence of the Kingdom under the rule of the legitimate sovereign of the Kingdom, Sidi Mohamed Ben Youssef,
02:44and the adhesion of Morocco to the Atlantic Charter, which took the right of the peoples to dispose of themselves.
02:54This document is a consecration for all Moroccans. It pays tribute in many ways.
02:59First, it salutes the primordial role played during the Second World War,
03:03after the letter of Sultan Mohammed Ben Youssef in 1939,
03:06who managed to convince the Allies that the Kingdom should obtain its independence,
03:11especially after the Conference of Anfa in 1942.
03:18This historic manifesto was a real national revolution,
03:22reflecting the patriotism of all Moroccans and their spirit of sacrifice and mobilization.
03:27The concrete proof of the awakening of a people,
03:29capable of taking control of its destiny and pursuing its march of liberation and progress,
03:34is its perfect symbiosis with the glorious throne in La Huite.
03:39On the occasion of the commemoration of the presentation of the Independence Manifesto,
03:44His Majesty the King Mohammed VI granted his grace to more than 1,300 people, 1,304 in total.
03:50They were condemned by different courts of the Kingdom.
03:56We remain in the Kingdom where the reconstruction efforts continue.
04:01After the Dalhousie earthquake, they were able to relocate hundreds of households.
04:06This is the case, for example, in Taroudante,
04:08where more than 300 houses have been rebuilt or rehabilitated.
04:13To find out a little more about the work done by the local authorities,
04:18let's follow this report by Abdelmohad Bouris and Dina Merini.
04:24Fifteen months after the earthquake that shook the Dalhousie region,
04:27the rate of reconstruction of houses reached 80%.
04:30The families who lost their homes were accompanied throughout the rehabilitation period.
04:37The Direction of Construction and the Environment
04:40organize regular meetings in order to follow the reconstruction files of the former Medina of Taroudante.
04:46Mobilization, commitment and seriousness are the keywords of this dynamic,
04:51whose priority is to relocate the families and provide them with decent living conditions.
04:59The study on the rehabilitation of the houses was carried out by a commission
05:03that includes representatives of the regional authority,
05:06representatives of the study offices and laboratories
05:09responsible for defining the extent of the damage to the reconstruction or repairs concerned.
05:15Haja Hafsa follows closely the progress of the reconstruction of his house,
05:21damaged by the earthquake, after the technical teams have repaired the damage.
05:26Today, the house has reached its final phase.
05:33My house has cracked in several different places.
05:36We repaired what we could with bricks, and thank God, this site is progressing well.
05:45The Haja Hafsa house is one of the 300 damaged buildings,
05:49classified according to the degree of danger and the type of intervention and measures necessary to be taken.
05:57We can list nearly 310 damaged houses,
06:00listed according to the extent of the damage.
06:02These houses are classified according to two categories,
06:05those requiring repairs and those requiring demolition to be completely rebuilt.
06:10The urban leveling of the doors and historical walls surrounding the ancient city of Zeroudend
06:15is also the subject of the rehabilitation program of the historical buildings
06:19and archaeological sites affected by the earthquake.
06:25In France, two trams collided at the Strasbourg station on Saturday afternoon,
06:34in an accident that caused about thirty minor injuries.
06:39A brutal collision followed by a reverse of one of the two trams at the station's platform.
06:48It was the first major French city to have put a network of trams in service in 1994,
06:57and had already known in 1998 an accident at exactly the same place.
07:02A tram had already hit another in the tunnel under the station,
07:07an accident due at the time to an excessive speed of one of the two trams that had injured 17 people.
07:15It's a nightmare for firefighters.
07:18President Joe Biden compares them to a war scene with bombings.
07:22In the United States, the many fires that raged in Los Angeles for the fourth day in a row
07:28caused at least 11 deaths, but the wind that stirs the flames began to weaken,
07:34while the controversy about the effectiveness of emergency services is rising.
07:41Houses reduced to ashes, burnt cars and people in tears in the face of the magnitude of the disaster.
07:48The fires that have ravaged Los Angeles since Tuesday are among the most destructive in the history of the Californian megalopolis.
07:56Stimulated by violent winds, the fire continues to cause chaos.
08:01The demolished or damaged buildings are counted by thousands, and the balance is aggravated to at least ten deaths.
08:08Los Angeles is threatened by five out-of-control fires.
08:12Authorities confirm that a sixth fire, named Kennett, occurred not far from the West Hill area.
08:23We are currently actively engaged in a new forest fire.
08:27This is the Kennett fire in the West Hill region of Los Angeles, on the border of the Vandora County.
08:33This fire covered more than 20 hectares upon arrival, with a potential for rapid growth.
08:43According to local authorities, the two largest fires in the neighborhoods of Pacific Balisad and Eaton
08:49destroyed more than 10,000 structures and burned nearly 13,000 hectares since their outbreak.
08:55More than 130,000 inhabitants had to evacuate their homes urgently.
09:00American President Joe Biden has deplored very extensive and devastating fires.
09:05He even described this disaster as one of the worst fires the city has ever experienced.
09:10Smoke clouds cover some neighborhoods.
09:13The health of the city's inhabitants is deteriorating.
09:17I woke up with burning eyes and an unbearable sore throat.
09:21Friends told me they were bleeding from the nose. It's really horrible. I sleep with a mask on.
09:26No improvement in air quality is expected.
09:30Some inhabitants of these ruined neighborhoods are suffocating.
09:34The amount of smoke and toxins in the air is enormous.
09:38Even if our house is spared, we will probably not be able to return to it for months.
09:46The damage caused by these terrible fires is estimated to be between $135 and $150 billion, according to local authorities.
09:54The American government has not yet made a figurative assessment.
09:59These spectacular fires remind of the climate emergency,
10:03while scientists warn of the multiplication of extreme meteorological events linked to global warming.
10:13Denmark's autonomous territory is covered by 80% ice.
10:18Greenland is fascinating for its supposed mining resources.
10:22This territory is also known for its geostrategic importance,
10:26to the point of arousing the intentions of Donald Trump's annexation of Ajaengo.
10:32The next tenant of the White House reiterates his expansionist ambitions.
10:37Donald Trump has assured that control of Greenland was an absolute necessity for the national security of the United States.
10:45In this context, the Danish Prime Minister met on Thursday night the heads of the parties represented in Parliament,
10:52as well as the two Greenland deputies.
10:54Even if she does not think that Trump would try to seize Greenland by force,
10:59she considers that a conversation with their ally, the United States, is necessary.
11:04The United States is our closest ally and on our side we will do everything we can to continue to have close cooperation.
11:13We must remain united in Europe and in the North Atlantic.
11:16And that is why, in a way, the growing American interest in Greenland is positive.
11:21It is also an interest that is by no means new.
11:25The Prime Minister said that she did not think that something concrete would happen
11:30as long as the elected president would not be in office.
11:33But the Prime Minister of Greenland opposes this proposal.
11:37The country is already seeking to take its independence from Denmark.
11:41...wanted to be here in the White House.
11:44This fight on Greenland's side is not new.
11:47We do not want to be Danish.
11:49We do not want to be American.
11:51We want to be Greenlanders.
11:53And of course, it is the Greenlanders who decide their future.
11:59Donald Trump had already targeted Greenland during his first term in 2019.
12:04He had proposed to drop it.
12:06He had drawn a net refund from Denmark, which had judged the proposal as absurd.
12:11Greenland is an autonomous territory of Denmark,
12:14as large as four times France, but covered with 80% ice.
12:17The territory attracts convoys for its natural resources,
12:21although oil prospecting and uranium exploitation are prohibited there.
12:26Donald Trump is also interested in Greenland for its geostrategic importance.
12:31The United States already has a military base.
12:34Economically, Greenland seeks to gain sovereignty,
12:37but remains financially dependent.
12:40Beirut and Damascus are committed to opening a new chapter in their relationship.

14:06In Sudan, the government announces that the army and allied groups have liberated Wad Madani, the capital of the province of Al-Jazeera.
14:15The men of General Al-Burhan had declared earlier that they were advancing on this key city in the center of the country,
14:23which had been under the control of paramilitary forces for more than a year.
14:29We are now heading to the square where the Egyptian, Somali and Eritrean ministers of foreign affairs met today.
14:40During the meeting, they agreed to preserve the unity and sovereignty of the states of the region of the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea
14:49according to the provisions of international law and the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of the states.
14:57They also discussed ways to contribute to the strengthening of the capacities of Somali state institutions.
15:07A new stage of the break-up of their military agreements.
15:11France has given back to Chad a second base during a ceremony this Saturday in Abedche in the east of the country,
15:22a phase that will lead to the definitive and total disengagement of the French army in this country later on January 31,
15:32a date that is imperative, irreversible and non-negotiable according to Yamena.
15:40The presidential election in Guinea could take place before the end of 2025,
15:45according to the government spokesman, presidential or legislative elections could be held in October,
15:52after a referendum for the adoption of a new constitution, probably in May.
15:57The transition president in Guinea, General Mamadou Doumouia, had promised that 2025 would be a crucial electoral year
16:05to complete the return to constitutional order.
16:10Back in the kingdom, in Casablanca, the first edition of the African Congress of Pediatrics welcomes the first time
16:19the South-South Cooperation Experience Sharing.
16:23This meeting is held under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
16:30The very first African Congress of Pediatrics started this Friday in Casablanca.

16:38to discuss key issues such as child health, epidemics of our time, progress, challenges and innovation in Africa.
16:46This event reflects Morocco's commitment to health cooperation in Africa,
16:50in line with other royal orientations aiming to strengthen South-South partnerships.
16:57This Congress is attended by several presidents of African associations of pediatrics,
17:03including the president of the International Association of Pediatrics
17:07and the president of the Francophone Association of Pediatricians, which includes more than 30 member countries.
17:17This is the first African Congress of its kind, which is organized in an African country,
17:23with the participation of African and European experts.
17:27The objective of this Congress is to allow pediatrics to exchange experiences and knowledge
17:33within the framework of a South-South cooperation,
17:37in which Morocco plays a central role under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
17:44The program includes conferences on allergology and child infections,
17:48prevention of bronchiolitis, a study of clinical cases of gastroenterology,
17:54or a symposium on rapid diagnostic tests,
17:58and a workshop on the management of the first convulsive crisis in children.
18:04This South-South cooperation is highly appreciated.
18:08We are very happy that Morocco welcomes us for the birth of this great initiative,
18:14because we know that the resources are not identical, but the intelligences are there,
18:20and this is what we are trying to mutualize to do good to African children.
18:28This African Congress of Pediatrics is an excellent idea.
18:32The program is very interesting from a social point of view.
