00:42A spokesperson for Ukraine's security service has said the arrest of two North Korean soldiers
00:47in Kursk is indisputable evidence of Pyongyang's involvement in the war.
00:53The two unnamed men were captured by Ukrainian forces on Saturday and have since reportedly
00:58been sent to Kiev for questioning.
01:01Artem Dektyarenko said one of the men was carrying a Russian military ID card issued
01:06in the name of a different person.
01:09Video released by the SSU purports to show the two men in detention apparently in Kiev.
01:15In his nightly video address, President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the two North Koreans were
01:20being questioned by investigators with the help of Korean translators.
01:25Zelensky said their presence on the battlefield is proof of Russia doing everything to prolong
01:30and escalate the war.
01:32There's been no comment from Pyongyang about the capture of the two soldiers.
01:42Authorities in the eastern city of Strasbourg say dozens of people have been injured after
01:46two trams collided.
01:49The accident happened during the afternoon in a tunnel near the city's central train
01:53station.
01:55No one was seriously hurt, but fire and rescue officials say an additional 100 people have
01:59been assessed for shock and stress.
02:03Emergency services deployed 130 firefighters, 50 rescue vehicles and established a wide
02:09safety perimeter.
02:11The exact cause of the collision was unclear, but local media reported that one of the trams
02:16was reversing at the time.
02:19Cleanup operations continued into the evening and residents were advised to avoid the area
02:24around the train station.
02:27Local media say Strasbourg was the first major French city to reinstate tram services in
02:321994 and hadn't experienced a significant accident until now.
02:42Several ambassadors to Israel have joined the weekly rally in Tel Aviv to demand the
02:46government reach a deal to return the hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.
02:50The weekly rallies have taken place for months on what's come to be known as Hostages Square.
02:56They've also taken on a political dimension with many protesters demanding Prime Minister
03:00Benjamin Netanyahu call fresh elections and step down.
03:04They accuse him of prioritizing his political survival over the lives of the around 100
03:09hostages believed to be in Gaza.
03:12The protest comes on the same day that Netanyahu said he was sending the director of the Mossad
03:16Foreign Intelligence Agency to ceasefire talks in Doha.
03:21There's increasing pressure from the U.S. for both sides to reach a deal before Joe
03:24Biden leaves the White House and hands over to Donald Trump on the 20th of January.
03:30An Israeli newspaper quoting Hamas sources said 90 percent of the details of the ceasefire
03:35deal are now complete.
03:42The Alternative for Germany party has officially elected Alice Weidel as its right-wing candidate
03:47for chancellor during a two-day party conference in Rissa.
03:51The announcement of her candidacy came after the gathering was delayed by more than one
03:55hour due to anti-AfD protests.
03:59Polls show AfD in second place in the upcoming election, with about 20 percent support.
04:04However, Weidel has a low chance of becoming Germany's chancellor, as other parties have
04:08refused to work with the AfD.
04:12Leading the polls is the conservative CDU with its leader Friedrich Merz, who called
04:16for fundamental change to German politics at the CDU's conference in Hamburg.
04:22In Berlin, Chancellor Olaf Scholz targeted the CDU at the centre-left SPD conference.
04:28After Olaf Scholz's coalition collapsed in November, polls show that support for his
04:45party sits at around 14 to 17 percent.
