More residents have been forced to abandon their homes following evacuation orders as fast-moving flames continued to engulf the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles, with firefighters rushing in to contain fires.

00:58A reporter for China Global Television Network was on the front lines of the Palisades fire
01:03in Los Angeles, an area that has recently been placed under evacuation orders.
01:08Ediz Tiansan said fire crews have been dispersed across various locations to combat the blaze
01:14and enforce evacuation.
01:16I'm following a fire crew over here.
01:19The firefighters are knocking on every door to make sure this place is evacuated.
01:24And you can probably also hear in the air, the aircraft support has also arrived, dropping
01:31water and fire retardant on those hills that are still on fire.
01:37Firefighters are also taking all possible measures to extinguish the burning fires before
01:41they reach residential quarters from Hilltop.
01:44And they're working around the houses to make sure that the area is cleared around them,
01:49so if fire does get down to the house, that it has the best chance it can of saving.
01:53There have been fixed-wing aircraft dropping retardant.
01:56There's retardant all over the ground.
01:58And right now, we have Type 1 helicopters that can drop a large amount of water in an area.
02:05So they're just really hammering this hillside behind me.
02:09Burning nearly 10,000 hectares, the Palisades fire alone has destroyed more than 5,000 structures.
02:16As of Sunday, only 11 percent of the fire was contained, as windy conditions persist.
