00:00The Department of Social Welfare and Development recorded a record-breaking number of helpers in 2024.

00:08Under the direction of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.,

00:12DSWD is now starting the rollout of their new programs this year.

00:17This is Joshua Garcia's report.

00:21Protecting the poorest, most vulnerable, and most in need of Filipinos.

00:26This is the remaining priority of the Department of Social Welfare and Development

00:30and was given by DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchaliana

00:33in the 2024 Performance Report of the agency that he distributed to the program of Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon.

00:38According to Calihim, this is in accordance with the marching orders of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

00:42in the full cabinet meeting held in Kamakailana.

00:45Their instruction to DSWD is to ensure that our programs such as 4Ps,

00:50AYUDA for Kapos Ang Kita Program, AICS, and other programs like Disaster Preparedness

00:57should all start now.

00:58No time to wait.

01:00Because we know that there are a lot of people in need and we need to rollout immediately.

01:04In 2024, the Department of Social Welfare and Development recorded a record-breaking number of helpers

01:10where more than 8 million family food boxes were distributed to those in need.

01:14AYUDA also reached P36 billion for Kapwa for those in need and affected by the pandemic.

01:21While more than 4 million family members of their 4Ps program,

01:25more than P400,000 of this has already finished the program and is considered to be in need of help.

01:31DSWD is also focusing on DOH, the stunting where they will contribute the first 1,000-day grant for the families of the affected.

01:39For now, the agency is continuing to promote their No Hunger and Offland Access Program.

01:44Here, Gatchalian is proud that they launched their first food bank and soup kitchen in the country

01:50together with the First Lady, Liza Araneta Marcos.

01:53Our role as DSWD is to bridge the gap between the most vulnerable so that we can include them and be inclusive.

02:01That's why No Hunger is important for us to expand so that once and for all by 2027,

02:07before the President is elected, we can say that no one is hungry by the Filipinos.

02:11While in the Offland Access Program, all families or individuals living in the country will be able to leave.

02:17Meanwhile, the agency's finalization of the guidelines on providing financial assistance for the poor

02:23such as ACA, AICS, and others will continue to be used correctly and will not be dominated by political propaganda.

02:29It is now expected that the UNIFIED IDENTIFICATION for Persons with Disabilities will begin in the second quarter of the year

02:36to ensure that the benefits will only be provided to those with disabilities,

02:40other agencies, and local governments.
