00:00The government is now alerted to the possible worst-case scenario of the eruption of volcano Canlaon.

00:06Meanwhile, we are continuously monitoring the possibility of a flood if there is a rain in Negros.

00:16The government is now preparing the worst-case scenario following the eruption of volcano Canlaon.

00:22This is the time to raise the volcano's alert to level 4, which is currently at level 3.

00:27From 86,000 people, 139,000 individuals will be evacuated if the danger zone is extended to 8 to 10 kilometers.

00:39Based on the recommendation of PBOX, we are already doing a worst-case scenario planning

00:47wherein our planning will reach 10 kilometers.

00:52That will require additional evacuation centers, additional food assistance, and the likes.

01:00After the eruption, they will not return immediately.

01:03We still have to assess what happened in the areas affected by the worst-case scenario or the very violent eruption.

01:11Currently, almost 50% or more than 39,000 individuals have been evacuated in the 6-kilometer danger zone.

01:20According to reports from La Castellana, La Carlota City, and Canlaon City,

01:25the mandatory evacuation of the remaining residents continues.

01:29We have to move away from danger because if there are no more people in the 6-kilometer zone,

01:34even if it erupts again and again, no one will die.

01:38There are solutions for the ashfall, but the pyroclastic materials, the density,

01:45the so-called PDC, that is dangerous.

01:48That is why we need to evacuate the people in the 6-kilometer zone.

01:52And if it needs to be 8 or 10, we will do that.

01:56That is our goal. There should be zero casualties.

01:59There is a warning that is being given.

02:01We don't want that while it erupts, we will be rescued.

02:06Although there is no indication to raise the alert,

02:10FIVOX closely monitors the activity of the volcano Canlaon

02:15that erupted in 31 volcanic earthquakes after it erupted.

02:19The possibility of ashfall is also monitored if there is rain in Negros.

02:24Explosive eruption may be followed by similar explosive eruptions on short term

02:29which may generate density currents within the 6-kilometer area on the summit.

02:34If it rains, the volcanic materials on the slopes of the volcano

02:41may be immobilized as lahars.

02:44This is very important, especially now that it is raining in Canlaon.

02:49The DSWD has distributed food packs, hygiene kits, sleeping kits,

02:54and other aid to the evacuees.

02:5687,000 family food packs were stockpiled in the field offices of the DSWD in Region 6 and 7.
