00:00See that kind of person definitely exists out there for sure. I'm from Mumbai, rather it must
00:12be happening in any city. The underbelly is definitely there and I feel if she's portraying
00:20a beautiful character out there and I'm supposed to be owning the girls who are into being a sex
00:27worker. I definitely respect them a lot and I feel the way they some of them are got into the
00:35into this kind of work. Some are willing and some are some have been trapped.
00:43It's sad, it's really sad. It is like you're in a little cage out there.
00:50I mean I did the role for sure because well someone has to be that kind of brutal and take
00:56it as a business and don't feel the emotion and the pain that they go through. You know what I mean?
01:01Absolutely, it's like a dead soul. So that kind of feel I kind of that role for me it's like a man
01:09who has no soul except maybe for his son who's being played by Sikandar, a boy who is absolutely
01:18hot-headed and totally wild, is like a wild horse out there.
01:24So I feel it's a very kind of business, very cruel kind of heart
01:33to do something like that, trap the girls or buy the girls off or keep them in a business which is
01:40what she is portraying.
01:48I did a lot of research about the world so I'm playing Seher like you've mentioned and
01:54we had a lot of readings with my director Ravi Jadhav sir and
01:59we talked a lot about it because it was important for me to understand that
02:04this character wants to make it big in this work.
02:12Why? What is the back story? You'll have to watch the show for that but to understand where
02:19that desire comes from, Ravi sir and I had talked a lot about it. We even went on field.
02:24We went to the red light areas, Kamathipura.
02:29Just to get, you see a lot of things visually that register in your mind,
02:36you do something, you feel something. So that was a bit we did but a lot of it also happened on set
02:44when you wear the costume, when you are in that area, on the location with characters
02:50around who give you energy. It was fun. It was my first such experience.
03:06Sometimes it really depends on one character I played where I had to
03:10really find conviction. I always find something soft in somebody. That's how it helps me to play.
03:17I mean no matter what the person is, there's a reason behind what his actions are.
03:22I feel I try to find that conviction to be able to play it.
03:28I have to make it believable for myself. I'm not doing this for the camera. I'm not doing it for
03:33anybody. I have to make it believable to me who the person is, why he's saying this stuff.
03:37Unless it's just completely a black shade altogether which I've had an experience with
03:42once where I just had to fake it but that's what I do most of the time. It doesn't nothing
03:47nothing comes naturally. I can I've played a brother which is a lovable brother in a film.
03:53I mean it's and I don't have any siblings so I think that
03:57was something. I think they all every character that you play has its own set of challenges
04:02and no one person is the same.
04:12So in fact your heart really goes out to that guy. At least that's how I see it.
04:42So you know what I mean? I was not prepping anything.
04:49They had to prep. The technicians have to prep. I'll go as a blank. Use me.
05:05So it came from the writers. So it's basically how your technicians handle you.
05:12So what happens in that is you just go, change your clothes.
05:25Because I've played a lot of police officers role. Just go and float.
05:30You said this. You said this.
05:32I was talking to Vivaan about this. He said something funny. He knows it by heart.
05:42I'll talk to him later. I want to know. But that's a fact. Three films a day.
05:46On one set.
05:48Yes.
05:50So it was mechanical. But everyone had a feeling.
05:52The emotions didn't die.
05:54When I talk to Anil Baba in Parinda,
05:56the emotions are there.
05:58When I'm romancing Juhi ji in Ghoriya Re,
06:00the emotions are there.
06:02When I'm believing that the snake is my brother,
06:04yes, the snake is my brother.
06:08The dog that I've raised is mine.
06:10So I go there and
06:12open it up.
06:14I open it up.
06:16I paint it white.
06:20They are such,
06:22they are legends.
06:24But they are
06:26such true to their work.
06:28Sir is so encouraging.
06:30That's what I was saying.
06:32You meet Jackie sir and he makes you feel
06:34that he's your own.
06:36It doesn't feel like you're meeting him for the first time.
06:38He's so warm.
06:40He was very supportive.
06:42Very encouraging. Even Sikandar sir.
06:44Even Sikandar was
06:46very encouraging.
06:48He was very supportive.
06:50Always cheering me, always giving me confidence.
06:52Making me feel that he's doing a good job.
06:56It's wonderful.
06:58I'm just very grateful.
07:00If there are such supporting actors,
07:02you don't get overwhelmed.
07:04You can just do your job really well.
07:06You get to learn something good.
07:08I'm very happy about it.
