00:00The Department of Migrant Workers in TTI
00:03established an alliance to provide better reintegration services
00:08to OFWs through the Buy Local, Buy OFWs program.

00:20In 2016, the start of his business in Nueva Ecija in Quezela.
00:26He was a former overseas Filipino worker in Qatar
00:29as a secretary in a government office.
00:32Some of his products are chocolate,
00:35mushroom chips, and banana chips, all locally made.
00:40His mystery is in his business.
00:43Just last year, he joined the Buy Local, Buy OFWs project
00:48which is part of the reintegration program
00:51of the Department of Trade and Industry and Department of Migrant Workers.
00:55We decided to start a business
00:58for good, for what we need to do
01:01while we are here in the Philippines.
01:03While having a business, at the same time,
01:05we can help not just for the community
01:08but also for our OFWs and local farmers.
01:12Because of this program,
01:14he was able to loan 4 million pesos
01:17which he used for expansion, marketing,
01:20and other expenses for his factory investment farm in Davao.
01:24This is also the start of his business.
01:27Now, he already has 50 employees.
01:31He is also able to export products to other countries.
01:35Sales have increased and the products are better known.
01:38We are able to have orders
01:40not just here but also around the Philippines.
01:44Kaysel is just one of the beneficiaries
01:47of the Buy Local, Buy OFWs project
01:49that went through the MOA signing of the DMW and DTI.
01:53It will provide support for the livelihood
01:56and products of OFWs.
01:59It also aims to support local products,
02:02business, and services.
02:04We have to make sure that
02:06no matter what, their money is put into good use.
02:08So when they come home,
02:10they will have something to give back
02:12and their families will have something to rely on.
02:15Also included in the agreement
02:17is the provision of training and seminars to the beneficiaries.
02:21The strengthening of micro, small, and medium enterprises or MSMEs.
02:27The implementation of various investment options
02:30such as franchising,
02:31which will greatly help the business they want to invest in.
02:35Financial assistance will be provided
02:38through government financial institutions
02:41and private sector partners.
02:43Through this product,
02:44our OFWs will have greater opportunities
02:47to empower themselves economically and socially
02:50upon their return to the Philippines.
