The wildfires in Los Angeles have been utterly devastating for those who live there, but that includes the animals who call the area their home, as well. Animal care organizations are now asking for help, saying that innumerable pets who were separated from their homes and others are in need of immediate shelter after the fires. 00:00The wildfires in Los Angeles have been utterly devastating for those who live there,
00:04but that includes the animals who call the area their home as well. That's why LA Animal Services
00:10and Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control are now asking for help, saying that innumerable
00:14pets who are separated from their homes and others are in need of immediate shelter after the fires.
00:20Those organizations are now waiving all adoption fees for their animals, asking anyone who can help
00:25to do so by either adopting or fostering a pet from their overcrowded shelters. Annette Ramirez,
00:31Interim General Manager of LA Animal Services, said in a statement, quote,
00:35By fostering, adopting, or helping to reunite lost pets with their families,
00:39we can provide some relief to the many animals who are affected by these fires.
00:43Fostering includes taking and caring for an animal while the shelter finds a forever home for them.
00:48It could also mean caring for the pet of someone who recently lost their home to the still raging
00:52fires. If you are already considering getting a new pet, this could also be the best time to do so,
00:57adopting and helping the shelter clear up space for more animals in the coming days.

01:06called Petco Love Lost is available to help reunite animals with their families.
