00:00Yeah, and we've been hearing a lot from President-elect Donald Trump accusing California officials
00:04of incompetence.
00:05It sounds like you agree with what the President-elect is saying, and I'm just wondering, how widely
00:11shared is that opinion across California?
00:13It's extremely widely shared.
00:15Even people in L.A., the area impacted is L.A., it's a lot of celebrities, it's traditionally
00:19a very affluent, progressive, liberal, Democrat area, and they've now come out in criticism
00:26not only of the governor, but also the mayor there, who was voted in overwhelmingly.
00:30So it's really shifted a lot of people's perspectives, because I don't think people appreciated how
00:36unprepared and how incompetent our leadership really is.
00:40Again, to have a fire and not have water in the fire hydrants, I can't underestimate how
00:45bad that situation is.
00:47I mean, they could have saved a lot of homes and residences if we had basic things like
00:51water.
00:53I always compare, Dubai is a desert.
00:56You have plenty of water.
00:57You turn on your sink, water comes out.
00:59California has not invested in water storage or infrastructure in a long time.
01:03We proposed a desalinization plant off the coast of the Pacific Ocean.
01:07That was rejected by these, what we call extreme environmental policies.
01:12They just don't want to do it, and so this is a big problem.
