00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is returning the 400 million pesos

00:05that was the branding budget of the Department of Tourism.

00:08He will use that to maintain the momentum of strengthening the international image of the country.

00:21President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ordered the Department of Budget and Management

00:25to return the 400 million pesos that was the branding budget of the Department of Tourism.

00:30That is the directive of the President with the help of DOT and economic managers of the government.

00:36According to the President, the fund will help strengthen the image of the country in the international stage,

00:43especially now that Filipino artists and athletes have made history because of their hard work.

00:49The budget will also help to increase the skills of Filipino health workers during the pandemic.

00:54The Department of Tourism ordered the President to restore the funding of the branding budget.

00:59If there is not enough funding for the campaign projects,

01:01it is possible to result in smaller engagements,

01:04fewer trade and consumer activation opportunities, and lack of global media placements.

01:10The target of obtaining the funds is the Contingency Fund of the Office of the President.

01:15The DOT ordered the President to reach 760 billion pesos for the International Visitor Receipt in the country

01:22for the entire year 2024.

01:24President Marcos Jr. also expressed his strong support

01:27for the construction of the Virology and Vaccine Institute of the Philippines of VIP Building

01:32in his meeting with the DOST.

01:35This is an early preparation for the possible recovery of the global pandemic.

01:39First, the DOST said that the DPWH's 2025 National Expenditure Program

01:45does not have the funding for the VIP.

01:47But the Chief Executive assured that the government is looking for a way

01:51to fund the project.

01:53It is estimated that 680 million pesos is needed for the VIP plan to be ramped up,

01:58including the development of vaccines for humans, animals, and plants.

02:03The President also emphasized the importance of building more and bigger dams.

02:09In a meeting with the National Irrigation Administration,

02:12the Chief Executive assured that the government is supporting

02:16the funding of irrigation programs,

02:19such as some projects in Ilocos Norte and Tarlac.
