00:19On National Deworming Month, the Department of Health and the Department of Education in Zamboanga City joined forces in their Operation Purga.
00:27At the ceremonial launching of Offline Goodbye Bulate in Mampang Elementary School, DOH Regional gave the importance of the year of the Mass Drug Administration so that the youth can enter or leave the school safely.
00:38How can the youth enter or leave the school safely?
00:42This is the annual or every year that we conduct the Harmonized Scheduled Mass Drug Administration.
00:51In Tagalog, it's called Pampurga. In Tagalog, it's called Alvendazon or Mevendazon, from 1 to 19 years old.
00:59Aside from Offline Goodbye Bulate, the Weekly Ion Folic Acid Supplementation Program was also launched for the youth.
01:06Here, DOH Regional explained the importance of the year, especially for the women in the adolescent stage.
01:14Especially our learners, female adolescents, which is vulnerable to anemia because of adolescent and menstruation.
01:23Genital men increase iron requirement and high prevalence of parasitic infections, resulting to loss of iron in the blood.
01:33So, you can see, there's a lack of iron in the blood.
01:39So, we recommend you to abstain.
01:43DOH will continue to pay attention to the well-being of Filipinos, especially the youth.
