00:00So this is a story that's going on right now that I guess they're trying to put out the fire on it,
00:06but Bill Belichick apparently has not signed officially his contract at UNC.
00:14Um, which this happened with, uh, with Michigan's coaches here, right? He didn't even have a
00:19contract. You didn't have a contract until like the middle of the season. Correct. But Bill
00:24Belichick, uh, does not have a contract sign. And so some are wondering if that negates him
00:30having the $10 million buyout with UNC. This was reported today by Jonathan Jones of CBS.
00:38And you know, everybody's looking at what's going on in the landscape right now. And
00:44Jerry Jones is obviously hobnobbing looking to get a, a big time splash. There's some talk about
00:49Dion, you know, there's some job opportunities out there. Bill Belichick kind of rushed into the,
00:54the whole college thing before the market was set. Is there something that could interest him
00:59or intrigue him? Could anybody poach him away? You know, there was a, I think even some fodder
01:03that even Tom Brady and him could reconcile and make something happen with the Raiders.
01:08But, uh, Michael Lombardi who drafted Leroy, he is the general manager of UNC football right now.
01:16He's he tweeted out on this report. Bill is recruiting in DC today and Baltimore tomorrow.
01:22His focus is on North Carolina football, hiring staff members and developing the team.
01:28The NFL isn't an option. So please stop making it one. Thank you. Here's what I would say.
01:35Um, Bill has himself to blame for that based on what happened with the jets years ago.
01:43Now I know it was a long time ago and the circumstances were it's the jets. So let's
01:48be clear about that. Um, that being said, you have to understand what he would be leaving to get into.
02:02You think bill Belichick is going to be able to survive in either
02:11Las Vegas with that owner or Dallas with that honor?
02:17Well, we talked about this the other day with, uh, I forgot who we were talking about.
02:21I think it was with Dion and, you know, I don't look at Mark Davis like his father,
02:26like, you know, he, he had to fire John Gruden basically because
02:31John Gruden got canceled for bad emails fired him. Right. Um, and then he had Josh McDaniels
02:39who on multiple stops has been a really bad coach. Like nobody seems to respect him as a head coach
02:44and Antonio Pierce, he kind of did what the players wanted. So I don't know.
02:50I feel like that one that, you know, I don't really get the Brady thing, but maybe Brady
02:55and Belichick are having a D Wade, Pat Riley. Like, you know, I kind of miss it when it's gone
03:00kind of thing. You know, you get to reminiscing. Maybe he knows that he could run a good
03:03organization. I'm sure Tom Brady does feel that way and would put hard feelings aside.
03:08You can re you can respect somebody and not like them true. Like let's not grown folks,
03:15grown folks, old folks. You don't have to like, Hey, newsflash world. You don't have to like
03:22everybody you work with, but you don't understand the job that they can do.
03:29And you put that aside. If you also want success. See, I feel like that one makes more sense to me
03:35than Dallas. Cause you're right. Dallas comes with so much media and not, and he hates that.
03:41And not only that the owner loves media because he loves doing his radio shows and his press
03:46conferences. And I don't see that is, is Jerry Jones saying something on behalf of Bill Belichick
03:54and Bill Belichick losing his mind. Right. I don't need, I don't need, I don't need anybody
04:01to speak for me. I can speak for myself. Maybe, you know, Stephen Ross gives a call, you know,
04:08you hear that press conference and he heard about all the tardiness and he really liked West Welker
04:13and you fired West Welker. And, you know, he's thinking to himself, you know, I just think that
04:19this last year has been kind of a wake up call for Mike McDaniel is where he realizes that
04:33more of a base needs to be built and, and with how they do things and what his demands are.
04:42Right. You, there are certain coaches who never make this assumption.
04:48And that assumption is they're pros. They're going to be professional.
04:54And the coaches that don't make that, you know, that, that don't just assume that other coaches
05:01that are maybe seem to be tougher that are maybe seemed, but the reality of it is, is that
05:08they're just not going to assume that you get what they're saying.
05:12They are going to make sure. And those are your better coaches. So when you look at,
05:18you know, even Dan Campbell, how he does things, right. When you look at the way Bill Belichick,
05:25everybody talks about, Hey, if you're a Patriot, this is how you're doing things. If not, you'll
05:29be gone. I don't care who you are. Right. Andy Reed, Andy Reed is not as
05:39loud, but everybody seems, no matter how big you are, everybody seems to be in line.
05:47So there are some coaches that, that, you know, kind of do that. You look at both the hard balls,
05:55right. Whoever's come through there, you've never had a problem with somebody not being
05:58professional. Nah, no way. So, so yeah, it's, I think that in Mike's effort,
06:07but we also have seen like with the Belichick thing, if he was going to stick around, like,
06:14you know, like college that I always feel like these, these things are squirrelier in college.
06:18Right. And if, if, if, if, you know, Steven, if it wasn't $10 million, what's a $10 million
06:23buyout to Steven Ross, right. Here's the $10 million buyout to Steven Ross is pocket change.
06:29Here's the difference between college and, and the NFL. You piss one of these kids off.
06:38There's a transfer portal. I'm out buddy. Right. They don't. And because of the people that you
06:45dealing with, which is not necessarily just the players, but the family members and stuff like
06:51that. If you're too hard on a player and somebody get their feelings hurt, then they'll leave,
06:59which is the craziest thing in sports. Like you don't get a free pass, you know, through sports,
07:06somebody at some point in time is going to be hard on you to get you to be the best version of yourself.
