00:00Well, the skies may be grey but that hasn't dampened spirits for the first day of the
00:06festival.
00:07I think there have been more people out and about than usual for the first day this year
00:11and that's because of the more comfortable conditions we're experiencing here in Tamworth.
00:16Now, organisers say ticket sales are going well already.
00:19They're expected to equal or surpass last year's sales, which were in fact the first
00:24return to pre-pandemic levels and here in the park tonight there's a huge free concert
00:29Felicity Urquhart and Josh Cunningham will be playing along with Duncan Toombs and Sara
00:33Storer.
00:34There's a lot of excitement about that.
00:35There's also a lot of excitement about seeing the buskers on Peel Street.
00:39Everyone's real nice, like, and even the locals and everyone that's coming to watch, they're
00:43all so supportive.
00:44They'll come round and just, you know, throw you a buck or two and just sit down and watch
00:47and it's great.
00:48It's so nice to walk past and see everybody standing and watching, just even the buskers,
00:53not even people, like, on the main stage.
00:55Yeah, it's nice to have people supporting just little artists as well.
00:59And things are really expected to heat up as the week goes on, literally and figuratively,
01:04with tops in the mid to high 30s expected later next week.
