00:00I mean, you have talked about this Pete Alonso stuff for the last few weeks.
00:04He is still unsigned as we get closer to spring training.
00:07And reports are now saying that the Mets expect him to sign somewhere else.
00:11And that's probably because and who knows if these offers are real.
00:14It could be the Boris team putting it out there.
00:16Allegedly, the Mets offered him like three years, 70 million dollars
00:19or something like that, like a real low ball offer.
00:23But I think we've reached the part of the negotiations
00:26where everyone's trying to make each other look bad.
00:28But here's what I would say to you.
00:30I don't think this guy, Stearns, who runs the Mets.
00:33I don't think he ever intended on bringing Alonso back.
00:36I don't think he ever had him in his plans.
00:37And it's just playing out that way. I don't either.
00:40I mean, I actually believed more so that he'd go to the Yankees
00:45a couple of months ago than ever back to the Mets.
00:49They gave all their money to Juan Soto and nobody else is getting Jack.
00:55These deals for these bums they signed today are laughable.
00:59The Winker deal, the Winkman, nobody's ever heard of.
01:03AJ Menter, who the F is that?
01:07Well, yes, they do bring the Winkman back one year, eight million dollars.
01:11AJ Menter, two years, 22.
01:13He's been with the Braves the last couple of years.
01:15So they take a piece out of Atlanta's pen, whatever.
01:18But yes, still no Pete Alonso.
01:21Now, I did see this story today.
01:23It might have been Bob
01:24Nightingale brought this up or maybe not, that the Blue Jays
01:28would sign Alonso, play him at first, move Vlad back to third.
01:33And that way, if Vlad leaves after next year,
01:37they they'll have Alonso to play at first base.
01:39So there's some talk that maybe the Blue Jays
01:42are going to get involved with Pete Alonso now.
01:44So we shall see how that goes.
