00:00The Philippine National Police is continuing with their security checkpoints.
00:04The election period in the country has now begun.
00:07According to the PNP spokesperson and Police Regional Office 3 Regional Director,
00:13Police Brigadier General Gene Fajardo,
00:15177 armed men were arrested since January 12.
00:21Four of them were detained at the checkpoint.
00:24104 were arrested from the police response.
00:2832 from the by-bust operations and one from the drug operations.
00:33The most were arrested from the National Capital Region,
00:37which is about 47.
00:39They were followed by Central Luzon and Western Visayas.
00:43About 487 were arrested.
00:47The most were arrested from the NCR,
00:50which was followed by Western Visayas.
00:52The PNP and AFP are continuing to monitor the areas of concern
00:58as the election approaches in May.
01:00As of now, the PNP has not yet issued a warning.
01:06What we are focusing on is the intense political rivalries that we are monitoring
01:12and of course, the possible use of private armed groups
01:16as the election risk factors that we will monitor.
