01:09Taiwan's delegation, led by Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu of the Kuomintang, arrived in D.C.
01:15for the ceremony.
01:17The cross-party group includes lawmakers from the Kuomintang, the Democratic Progressive
01:21Party, and the Taiwan People's Party.
01:25But the sudden decision to hold an indoor inauguration has complicated the delegation's
01:30plans.
01:31They won't be able to attend the indoor ceremony.
01:35Speaking at a welcome banquet in Maryland, Han says the change in schedule won't affect
01:41much of their plans.
01:42Because of the snowstorm, the U.S. has made some adjustments and changes.

01:49We fully respect the organizers.
01:55Outside the banquet, protesters calling for Han to step down as Legislative Speaker, saying
02:01he's behind a divided chamber back home.
02:06But with the delegation here in the U.S., their focus remains on showing Taiwan's support
02:12for the new administration.
02:14Aside from the inauguration, they're also set to meet with U.S. lawmakers and think
02:18tanks.
02:19Despite the uncertainty around the delegation's plans for the inauguration, spirits remain
02:24high that their time here in D.C. will be productive.
