(Adnkronos) - "La musica, così come le iniziative sui libri e la cultura, sono il veicolo della vita, della convivenza, dell'apertura, della crescita personale e collettiva. È quello che state facendo in questa scuola. Per me è davvero un motivo di soddisfazione essere qui e farvi i complimenti". Sono le parole del Capo dello Stato Sergio Mattarella, che a Palermo ha incontrato i bambini della scuola De Amicis. Nel novembre scorso i bimbi della quinta C furono insultati mentre si esibivano davanti alla Feltrinelli, vestiti con abiti tradizionali africani. "Io ogni anno vado in una scuola per l'apertura dell'anno scolastico, ma non è frequente che vada in altre occasioni. Sono lietissimo di essere qui questa mattina - dice Mattarella - E ringraziarvi per quello che fate. Ringrazio i vostri insegnanti per quello che vi trasmettono e per come vi guidano nell'accrescimento culturale". "Siete bravissimi" ha detto Mattarella dopo l'esibizione musicale dei ragazzi, impegnati su diversi fronti dal punto di vista culturale. "Complimenti a voi e ai vostri insegnanti. Siete una scuola che con la cultura, la lettura, la musica e tante altre iniziative esprime i valori della convivenza nel nostro Paese e nel mondo, che è sempre più unito e sempre più connesso. Senza confini. Scambiarsi opinioni, idee e abitudini e crescere insieme è una ricchezza. Complimenti ancora, avete dimostrato una grande capacità di esecuzione musicale. Insegnare è un'impresa non facile, impegnativa. Ma per gli insegnanti è una grande soddisfazione far crescere i ragazzi verso il futuro".
