00:00We're sitting at the Technical University of Eindhoven and this is the world's first
00:13soda-powered home, Stella Vita.
00:32My name is Tijn, Tijn Terhorst, and I'm a mechanical engineer.
00:36This vehicle is made by 22 students of Soda Team Eindhoven, all students from the Technical
00:40University of Eindhoven.
00:42We all put aside our studies for one and a half years to fully build this vehicle.
00:50What's special about this car is that it's actually a normal car, but it has these additional
00:54solar cells on the roof.
00:57So like a normal electric car, we can drive, but only on the energy of the sun.
01:03Besides driving, you can also live on the energy of the sun.
01:07So think of cooking an egg or making a cup of coffee, sleeping, taking a shower, everything
01:12is possible in this vehicle.
01:14As you can see here, it has a quite strange shape and it has to do with the aerodynamics.
01:19So what we're trying to do is to use as less or as little energy when we move from A to
01:25B.
01:26And we do this by making an air or droplet shape, that's why you can see this strange
01:33futuristic look.
01:36So one of the main features, of course, we have a really extended or comfortable interior.
01:43Because when you go on holiday, you don't want to make any compromises, you just want
01:46to relax.
01:47So that's why we have a kitchen here, it has a bed.
01:51Actually anything or everything that you would need is inside.
01:55There's even a toilet and a shower, it's all beneath there.
01:58My name is Lotte van Dassler and I'm 23 years old and I have a background in biomedical
02:09engineering.
02:10I'm in my master's currently.
02:12Sella Vita has a range of 600 kilometers on a fully battery and the battery is all positioned
02:18underneath the couch of the drivers.
02:24The normal RVs in the Netherlands drive 85 kilometers and Sella Vita can do that as well.
02:30That's why we want to showcase that the future is already here.
02:39Our main goal is to really inspire the current market and society and to show what's already
02:44possible.
02:45So we want to accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable future.
