00:00Let's look at Mike D'Courcy's bracketology now.
00:04He has his brackets out for the NCAA tournament already.
00:10Just like Lennarty and Palm,
00:12he's now competing with these people.
00:14And Jerry has told me on a number of occasions
00:17that he wants to fist fight you,
00:19but I have not been able to arrange that at all yet
00:22in the boxing lexicon.
00:25But let's see who you like.
00:26I know you don't like Indiana.
00:28It sounds to me like they're going to fire Woodson,
00:31and I'm not sure that's the greatest idea.
00:33Who are they going to get to coach?
00:34They're 15th coach since Bob Knight.
00:37They're not making the tournament.
00:38Let's talk about who is.
00:40Give me your, you know, brackets,
00:42like, in the simplest form.
00:44Well, the simplest form is Alabama
00:47became a one-seat over the weekend
00:49with their terrific victory against Kentucky.
00:55That was an enormous victory, a great win.
00:59And it didn't knock Kentucky off the two-line.
01:02I still kept them there,
01:03but the tie joined their good friends from Auburn,
01:08Duke as well, and Iowa State.
01:10Even though they lost, again, they hung on.
01:13There aren't any other two seeds beyond Alabama
01:15that are saying, we've got to be in.
01:17Marquette might have, except they lost as well
01:20over the weekend to Xavier.
01:22So those are your four number-one seeds.
01:24I think one of the interesting things, Scott,
01:27is how desperately, last night,
01:29I looked for a 68th team, effectively, the last team in.
01:34It's nearly impossible.
01:36They're talking about expanding this bracket to 72 or 76.
01:40There are not 72 or 76 teams
01:43that are worthy of being in the NCAA tournament.
01:46There aren't now, and there won't be by mid-March.
01:49It's just, it's a preposterous conceit.
01:52You know, the funny thing is,
01:53the whole idea was that Greg Sankey was worried
01:56because they expanded to 16 teams in the SEC
01:58that they wouldn't get enough, and I think I have 12 now.
02:02And I think the last time Paul did it, he had 13.
02:06So it's a ridiculous conceit.
02:08It really is. There's no need to expand it.
02:11The big conferences, the ones that are the best,
02:13the Big Ten, the SEC,
02:14they're going to get all the bids they can use,
02:17and everybody else is just going to have to fight
02:19for what's left.
02:21They think that the irony, of course,
02:23is that in the Atlantic Ten and some other leagues,
02:25they think, well, if we expand it,
02:26there'll be more for us.
02:27Nope, there won't be more for you.
02:29It'll just be more for the SEC.
02:31So don't ruin the event by expanding to 72 or 68.
02:37It's not even ruining the event.
02:38It ruins this. It ruins this season
02:40because anybody that can bounce a ball three times
02:43without knocking it off their foot
02:45will get into a 72 or 76-team tournament.
02:49I agree. Your twos are Marquette, Kentucky,
02:52Purdue, and Tennessee.
02:53Your threes are Oregon, Florida,
02:55Kansas, and Michigan State.
02:56Your fours are Houston, Illinois, Memphis, and Ole Miss.
03:00I'll tell you what.
03:01I watched that Illinois team beat the hell out of Indiana.
03:04I saw them lose at the Breslin by a bucket.
03:07I think they're really tough.
03:10They're really good.
03:12Yaka Shona, their freshman point guard, so talented,
03:15fouled out, did not play well in that Michigan State game.
03:18They're not the same team without him.
03:20The fifth foul was a silly foul.
03:22He had a couple of tough ones called on him.
03:24When I say silly, he should not have committed it.
03:26I mean, not a silly call on the ref,
03:28but silly foul by him.
03:29But he's a freshman.
03:30Got to learn from that.
03:31But he's a phenomenal playmaker.
03:34And when he's out there,
03:35Illinois is really tough to deal with.
