Australia's newest pair of giant pandas have made their first public appearance at Adelaide Zoo today, since their arrival from China last month. Four-year-old male Xing Qiu and three-year-old female Yilan have concluded their quarantine period and are settling into their new home.

00:23Well, we just came to the zoo and we saw that there was this big thing going on. So we were
00:29like, oh my gosh, it's probably about the pandas.
00:32They're very cool and they're very nice and they can very easily climb.
00:38They look really cute and fluffy.
00:42They look yummy. I want to hug them.
00:46The pair replaced Wong Wong and Funi who had been at the zoo for 15 years.
00:50The two new pandas will cost the federal government $1.5 million each year
00:55over 10 years to keep them here at Adelaide Zoo.
