00:00I'm in St Joseph's Church, Hartlepool, with Canon Paul. Canon Paul, you have a big event
00:05this Jubilee year. What is it about? So every 25 years the Catholic Church celebrates a
00:11Jubilee time when traditionally wrongs were forgiven. And this is the Jubilee, a year
00:20of hope, pilgrims of hope. And the Holy Father opened four holy doors in Rome at the four
00:27major basilicas and throughout the world in cathedrals and designated Jubilee churches.
00:32Holy doors are open so pilgrims can come, enter through the holy door and receive what
00:38was traditionally called an indulgence, which basically means that God is indulging you,
00:43he's giving you his grace, his peace, his forgiveness, his love. And the doors are open
00:48for anybody to come into church? Indeed, anyone can come through the holy doors and there's
00:52a mini pilgrimage around the church where people can reflect on various aspects of their
00:57faith life.
