00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. is very grateful to the Oman government and to all the people who helped to free the Filipino seafarers.

00:19After the release of the 17 Filipino seafarers by the Houthi rebels following the Red Sea incident in November 2023, more than a year has passed.
00:34This was announced by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. in his social media account where he announced that all the 17 Filipino crew members and other crew members of the MV Galaxy Leader are safe.
00:48The President said that our fellow Filipinos are now in the care of the Philippine Embassy in Muscat, Oman, where their loved ones are expected to be with them after the latest development.
01:00The President thanked Oman Sultan Haytham Bintarik and his government for the success of this initiative that brought the release of the 17 Filipino seafarers.
01:13The President also praised the Philippine government agencies and private groups for their unwavering support to the foreign government to free the Filipinos after 428 days.
01:29The President added that because of the courage of the Filipino seafarers, the reason why the Magna Carta or Filipino Seafarers were issued is to protect their rights and rights, ensure their full employment and ensure an equal opportunity in the maritime industry as well as access to education, training and development in line with the existing domestic and international laws, standards, and conventions.
