00:44The U.S. military moves its Typhon launchers, capable of firing multipurpose missiles over thousands of kilometers, from Lawag Airfield to a different location in Luzon

00:53A senior Philippine government source says the relocation will help assess the missile's battery mobility and its ability to quickly move to a new position

01:01That mobility is seen as a strategy to enhance survivability in a conflict

01:05Satellite images show the batteries and equipment being loaded onto C-17 transport planes at Lawag International Airport in recent weeks

01:13The Typhon system is part of the U.S. effort for more anti-ship weapons in Asia

01:18Indopakom and the Philippine government declined to give the launchers new location

01:23Meantime, the French Carrier Strike Group, led by the Charles de Gaulle Aircraft Carrier, will visit the Philippines by the end of February 2025

01:40President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. confirms on Thursday, January 23, Yemeni Houthi rebels released 17 Filipino seafarers aboard the Galaxy leadership

01:49This more than a year after taking them hostage

01:52The seafarers are expected to land Thursday night in Manila

01:55The overseas Filipino workers or OFWs were captured in November 2023 while on board an Israel-owned Japanese-operated cargo vessel in the Red Sea

02:04The Houthi Supreme Political Council says, quote, the release of the Galaxy leader crew comes within the framework of our solidarity with Gaza and in support of the ceasefire agreement

02:14The Philippine government tried to secure the release of the 17 seafarers, but the Houthis said the Filipinos would be freed once the Gaza conflict ended

02:23Prince Harry claims a monumental victory over Rupert Murdoch's UK newspaper group on Wednesday, January 22

02:29Publisher settles the lawsuit, admitting unlawful actions at the Sun tabloid for the first time and paying substantial damages

02:36Harry had been suing News Group Newspapers, or NGN, publisher of The Sun and the now-defunct News of the World, for allegedly illegally obtaining his private information from 1996 till 2011

02:48NGN also admits it intruded into the private life of Harry's late mother, Princess Diana

02:53A source familiar with the settlement says the damages involved an eight-figure sum

02:57NGN has paid out hundreds of millions of pounds to victims of phone hacking and other unlawful information gathering by the News of the World

03:55Director Daryl Yap releases the trailer for his controversial film, The Rapists of Pepsi Paloma, on Tuesday, January 21, amid an ongoing legal battle against Vic Soto

04:06The trailer features Paloma's mother, Lydia Duena Whitley, and brother Zaldi, as the film focuses on the late actress' rape case and death

04:13Yap proceeds to release the trailer as the court has yet to rule on the writ of habeas data petition filed by Soto

04:19If granted, the petition would require Yap to delete or destroy the contested data

04:24Soto also files 19 counts of cyber-libel against the filmmaker

04:28Yap and Soto faced off on January 17 at the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court, though both parties remained silent after the court issued a gag order

04:37The Pepsi Paloma case dates back to 1982, when the actress, at 15, accused Soto and fellow Itbologak comedians Joey DeLeon and Ritchie DeHorsey of rape

04:46She later dropped the charges

04:48She was found dead in an apparent suicide in 1985
