00:14Sandakan Fire and Rescue Station Chief Severinus Sainkuy said the 63-year-old driver and the
00:21injured passengers were initially assisted by members of the public who rushed them to
00:26the Duchess of Kent Sandakan Hospital for treatment.
00:29In a statement, Severinus said the station received an emergency call at around 9.15
00:34am.
00:35A fire engine and eight personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene.
00:39The coach was carrying 17 Chinese nationals, including four children, on a sightseeing
00:44tour when the accident occurred.
00:46The rescue team also conducted a clean-up operation to remove an oil spill from the
00:50accident site, ensuring the area was safe for public use.
00:54The operation concluded at 10.42 am.
