Swedish police have detained a 16-year-old boy early Wednesday (April 30) on suspicion of murder following a fatal shooting that left three people dead in the town of Uppsala on Tuesday (April 29).

The person was suspected of murder and was one of several people being interrogated as part of the investigation.

00:00Swedish police have detained a 16-year-old boy early Wednesday on suspicion of murder following a fatal shooting that left three people dead in the town of Uppsala on Tuesday.
00:11The killings took place in a hair salon just as the university town, some 40 minutes north of Stockholm, was gearing up for Walpurgis Night, one of the country's busiest holidays.
00:23Uppsala area head of police said the suspect is being held on probable cause for murder.
00:28Several others are also being questioned in connection with the case.
00:58Police add the incident was believed to be an isolated event and not linked to the holiday celebrations.
