00:00The Department of Agriculture has raised the budget of Php 3 billion to build cold storage facilities in Shamnaput, Sham.
00:10The goal is to help the cold storage facilities to lower or stabilize the supply and price of fruits and vegetables while prolonging their shelf life.
00:22According to the Department of Agriculture Secretary Francisco Cho Laurel Jr.,
00:27by improving the cold chain infrastructure in the country, this will strengthen the agriculture sector, reduce losses, prolong shelf life, and stabilize the supply and price that provides food security to the country.
00:43The project will be funded from the unprogrammed funds of Php 1.5 billion in 2024 while the additional Php 1.5 billion will be from the budget of the DA this year.
