00:20we are waiting for your accomplishments at the University of Ilocos Norte.

00:27Officials, stakeholders, faculty staff, personnel, alumni and students are gathered for the month-long celebration

00:40of the 47th Anniversary of Mariano Marcos State University at the Ilocos Norte Theater at the University.

00:48This is the first time that the achievements and accomplishments of the University have been shown for the past four decades.

00:58This month-long celebration is also known as the Film Festival, Thanksgiving Ceremony, Trade Fair, and Garden Show.

01:07Because we have fourfold functions in the University, instruction, research, extension, and resource generation.

01:20I will update the whole community of what we have achieved or our accomplishments last 2024.

01:30The MMSU was established on January 6, 1978.

01:34This year, the Presidential Decree No. 1279 was signed by former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

01:42This year, 14 colleges and 65-degree programs were established at the University,

01:48including the College of Nursing, Medicine, Teacher Education, and College of Law,

01:54among the top-performing colleges in the University.

01:58The main campus, which used to be a small campus, is now a large campus with more than 18,000 students.

02:10MMSU's Level 4 State University and College is also located here.

02:17The Level 4 State University and College has a high level of instruction.

02:25We are backed up with research, extension, and resource generation.

02:30So it's expected that the graduates that we produce are competitive not only locally, but also globally.

02:47It is a valuable opportunity for Trinidad-Benguet to build a flood mitigation structure

02:54in order to prevent the spread of strawberries, lettuces, and other types of storms.

03:51Karaman is a flood protection project.

03:53It includes a 712-meter vetment wall, 266-meter stone masonry structure,

03:59and a 54-meter rubble concrete gravity wall,

04:02which is considered to be a flood protection wall,

04:04from which the community will be able to save as much as possible.

04:10The project is estimated to cost Php 86.8 million under the 2024 General Appropriations Act.

04:18The residents nearby are not afraid that their houses will be affected by the flood.

04:28At the same time, there is also the protection of the university.

04:33The Balili River and the Tributaries of Bawang River Basin are also affected.

04:38The Principal Rivers are also affected.

04:41DPWH is working on immediate engineering interventions to find a solution to this problem.
