00:00It is safer and faster to travel to places in the center of Iloilo
00:04after the upgrade of the new Lucena-Santa Barbara Road
00:09by the Department of Public Works and Highways.
00:11According to the DPWH Region 6,
00:13the project is to pave the 8.66 kilometers of road
00:18including 613 meters of canal and sidewalk
00:21and 222 meters of concrete shoulder.
00:25In addition to making the trip easier,
00:27the project will also help in lengthening the life of the road
00:33and reducing maintenance costs.
00:36The project also includes the installation of reflectorized pavement markings
00:41and warning signs for the safety of motorists and pedestrians.
00:45The project is being carried out by the DPWH Iloilo Fork District Engineering Office
00:50and is worth P122.4 million.
