00:31And a tippy one.
00:32No, it meant me.
00:33OK, enough even higher, we can sort of move them.
00:44Can we do the good Yannick smile?
00:45Let's have these laughing faces.
00:48They're over here, Dan.
00:52Yes, good morning everyone, it's a big pleasure to be here, it means so much to me, a lot
01:07of work we put behind this one, it means a lot to have this one now two times with me
01:14and the support has been amazing from the start of the tournament and everything considered
01:21I'm very, very happy to share this moment with all of you and obviously also my team
01:26and family.
01:27You've got the city of Melbourne behind you, this city must feel fairly special to you
01:31right now.
01:32Yes, it's very special, last year we were in a different location, this year again it's
01:37here with this beautiful lake and it's a very windy but also hot day so it's amazing.
01:47Yannick, congratulations, we here in Australia love the relationship that you have with Darren,
01:52who we're very proud of.
01:54Can you tell us again how special it is to share this with him and what makes him such
01:59a good coach in your opinion?
02:01Well, I believe coaching is on court but also off the court, I think to be a good coach
02:07you have to understand first of all the player but also the team environment and he's very,
02:12very humble to do that, he has shown this not only with me but with so many other players
02:18and I'm learning a lot from him, I just try to do my best as he does with his job and
02:28at the end of the day we are not only a coach and player but it's more like a family.
02:36For him, the combination with Simone has been amazing, they understand each other, they
02:42have a lot of respect to each other and I think that makes him very, very special.
02:46Is there a chance you convince him to stay another year?
02:50That's a good question, these are questions that will be answered in the future, let's see.
02:59Congratulations Yannick, how did you celebrate last night, did you go anywhere in particular in Melbourne?
03:04No, not really, we had a nice dinner with all the team and also my brother was here and
03:11just having a great time together which is exactly what we needed. We have been two weeks under
03:20many, many people and persons and it was nice to close just with us and it was a very, very nice
03:29evening, I had to do also some stuff yesterday after the match with press and media so we
03:36just had a nice dinner together and that's it.
03:40How long do you get to spend in Melbourne now?
03:43I'm going to leave tonight so it's all finished here, obviously I wish I could stay a bit
03:52more but it's also nice to get back to where I am from, spending some time there which is nice.
04:05Yannick, how does this one compare to last year, obviously your first Grand Slam win last year,
04:09what makes this one so different?
04:11The first one is more a kind of relief, it's different, it gives you the thing that you
04:18can't do it if you play some great tennis. The second one, this one, maybe you enjoy
04:23it a bit more because it's different but every Grand Slam or every tournament you win or
04:32you go far, it has its own story, you have to pass difficulties like I did also this
04:39year here and this makes it very, very special.
04:44What did you say to Sascha last night when you were consoling him?
04:51I think we all saw that he was very emotional, struggling in that moment, I tried to give
04:58him, even if it's not an easy moment for him on court, but I tried to give him some heads
05:08up. Losing finals is never easy, especially Grand Slams, he was struggling, I told him
05:20to keep believing, he's an incredible player, he deserves a Grand Slam more than any other
05:29player so I wish him only the best and I just told him to keep believing, he has a great
05:36team, great family behind him, he puts a lot of sacrifice to get to this stage and that's it.
05:48Yannick, congratulations. Do you feel a non-calendar year Grand Slam is a possibility?
05:55That's a tough question. I'm not thinking about that, to be honest. I'm going to enjoy
06:05this moment now, obviously Roland-Garros starts but it's a different tournament. Maximum I
06:11played there was semi-finals last year so let's see what's coming there. In Gresten
06:17it's also a different surface where you have to have a great confidence with the court
06:23but let's see. I'm happy with this one and then we'll see in the future what I can achieve.
06:34How did you feel when you won your second AER?
06:40First of all, good Italian, amazing. You talk better than me Italian.
06:45It feels amazing, waking up with this trophy, being here in Melbourne in Australia, having
06:57the first season in one hour with the sun, with the wind, with a bit of rain and experiencing
07:04every single department of the weather in Melbourne in one day. It's nice and tonight
07:13it's also time to fly back but I'm very, very happy.
07:17What did you say to your coach?
07:21My coach, they are obviously very, very happy. I told them that I'm super happy of the work
07:28we have done together and it was a nice moment to share these kind of things with my coach
07:35and it was nice. Do you play tennis?
07:37Yeah. How can you control the pressure?
07:43Pressure? Pressure is sometimes not easy but I believe that pressure always pushes you
07:52to do better. You have to take it in a positive way. Sometimes there is a little bit of attention,
08:00like right now you see a lot of people but the most important is always to focus on yourself
08:05and having fun with what you do. You have for sure a great coach and an incredible family
08:14and that's the most important.
08:17What do you say to yourself when you're down?
08:20When I'm down I just try to find a solution somehow until you don't finish your last point
08:29and it's not over. Everything can happen in a tennis match. Every moment can be a game
08:36changer so it takes a lot of self-belief, sometimes a bit of luck and that's it.
08:47Thank you so much.
