00:32And Colombia backs down in its conflict with the United States.
00:35Petro's government accepts the terms of deportation of the citizens, while his foreign minister
00:39announces upcoming meetings in Washington.
00:46Hello and welcome from the south, I'm Luis Alberto Matos from Televisual Studios in Havana,
00:51Cuba.
00:52We begin with the news.
01:10In Palestine, thousands of displaced people begin to return to their homes in the north
01:14of the Vaseline-Gaza Strip after Israel opened the Netzarim Corridor.
01:19Thousands of displaced people return on foot through al-Rashid, a street of at least seven
01:23kilometers that stretches from the south to the north of the Strip and that has witnessed
01:28dozens of massacres during the 470 days of the conflict.
01:32The ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel came into force on January 19 and establishes
01:38that the Gazans will be able to cross the Netzarim Corridor to return to the north of
01:43the Palestinian enclave from Sunday.
01:46As of October 7, 2023, the Zionist forces of Israel caused the displacement of more
01:51than 85% of the citizens of Gaza in the midst of a massive and unprecedented destruction
01:56of infrastructure and property of citizens.
02:06It's a great feeling when you come home to your family and see your house, if you still
02:10have one.
02:13Meanwhile, thousands of people are still waiting on Saladino Street to gain access
02:17to the northern Gaza Strip and return to their home.
02:24We are sitting here until they open the road for us and we return to our homes.
02:28Children slept in the cold.
02:30We dismantled the wood from the tent and lit a fire with it to warm ourselves.
02:35We were waiting for this moment for Gaza and to go back to it.
02:39Last night was very tough.
02:41The cold was very intense.
02:44We are waiting here until they open the road.
02:47We return to our homes in the north of the Strip.
02:57I am from the al-Shadi camp.
02:59Of course we hope to return to our homes.
03:02I had been displaced for one year and three months.
03:05We visited all the places during the period of displacement.
03:08When we heard the news that the army would not allow us to return to Gaza, we felt very
03:11sad and we hope in God that we will return to Gaza.
03:14It was a very difficult night.
03:16We were freezing cold.
03:20My joy when I heard the news of my return to Gaza was indescribable.
03:24We want to show the enemy that we are firm and, God willing, we will be victorious.
03:30We have been here since last night and we have been in the south for a year and a half.
03:35In Palestine, hundreds of Gazans are going on a long and exhausting journey to return
03:39to their homes in the northern Strip.
03:41Let's see the following coverage of our collaborator Udaihe Gassi.
03:48Finally, the most expected time has arrived since the truce and the end of war were planned
03:54in the Gaza Strip, the time in which Gazans could go home to the northern area.
04:00I am now at the Netzarim checkpoint, which splits the north from the south in the Gaza
04:05Strip.
04:06Today, at 7 a.m. in the morning, Israeli forces have withdrawn to allow Gazans to return home.
04:16As we can see on this path, the journey will be by foot.
04:22Gazans have arrived very early in the morning at this place to go to the northern area and
04:30even as we can see here, there are drums of water provided by the International Red
04:35Cross for people to drink because the journey is very exhausting and long.
04:42And so, despite this, Gazans are not afraid and assured that they will do everything at
04:47their hands to go finally to their homes, even though the journey be complicated.
04:55We have to say that at this checkpoint, they will allow the exit and return of Gazans,
05:01so those Gazans from the south could go to the north and those from the north could go
05:05to the south and even to the center.
05:09And the journey, the path is partially opened and as we can see, the joy of Gazans is unspeakable.
05:18So at the end, they will finally go to their homes, to the northern area, which they have
05:22been deprived of for 15 months.
05:28The city of Gaza is my life.
05:30It is everything to me.
05:31It is true that a lot of destruction and a lot of work awaits us, but it doesn't matter.
05:36Even if I have to pitch a tent where my house used to be, the important thing is that we
05:39are back.
05:46Thank Allah we are back, but the truth is that we are very tired.
05:50If Allah helps us, I will soon be back home.
05:52We wanted to come back a long time ago, but it hasn't been possible until now.
05:57I want to return home, to my land, with my people.
06:01As we have heard, Gazans are very happy to return to the northern area finally, and they
06:08assured that this is a historical day for the history of Palestine, in which they finally
06:14could go to the northern area, that area that they have been able to go since the
06:21genocidal war of Israel, and they assured that despite destruction and the losses of
06:25all their belongings and houses, they assured that they will go there and rebuild everything
06:31the Israeli army has destroyed since the onset of war.
06:37In other news, Sudan Army Chief Abdel Fattah al-Buhan visited the recaptured military headquarters
06:42in downtown Khartoum.
06:44This was the military leader's first appearance since government forces claimed to have broken
06:48a month-long siege by the rapid support forces.
06:53Accompanied by senior military commanders, Buhan praised the resilience and sacrifices
06:56of soldiers who defended the army's general command for 20 months, and vowed to eradicate
07:03the paramilitary forces.
07:05The war, triggered by a power struggle between the army and the RSF, has killed tens of thousands
07:10of people, displaced millions and plunged the country into a humanitarian crisis.
07:22The Sudanese people stand behind the army, and we are all witnessing now how the entire
07:26people is supporting us in this battle.
07:28This battle is nearing its end, and these rebels, the rapid support forces, shall cease
07:32to exist.
07:33We pledge to the Sudanese people that we'll keep fighting until we achieve this."
07:41In South Korea, the Prosecutor's Office decided to prosecute President Jun Suk-kyi on Sunday
07:46for the crime of insurrection after his controversial decision to declare martial law on December
07:513.
07:52The South Korean prosecution alleged that former President Jun conspired with former
07:56Defense Minister Kim Jong-un and other officials to instigate an uprising by imposing martial
08:01law.
08:02According to the indictment, the former president also deployed troops to Parliament in order
08:06to prevent lawmakers from overturning his martial decree.
08:09In addition to this crime, the president is accused of planning the arrest of key political
08:14figures including the President of the National Assembly and opposition party leaders as well
08:20as members of the National Election Commission.
08:50Welcome back.

10:10and rescue operations.
10:18A new crowd of migrants departed from the northern border of Mexico to the United States
10:22in search of the so-called American Dream.
10:25Close to 3,000 foreigners left Tapachula, Chiapas after President Trump canceled the
10:30CBP-1 application last Monday.
10:33Migrants seek to move forward in the hope of being allowed to cross into the United
10:37States, and in case they cannot cross, they want to reach Mexico City or Monterrey to
10:42look for jobs.
10:43With only a week as head of state, Donald Trump ordered several measures against illegal
10:48migration, among them deportation, while Mexican President Claudio Chimbao opened the possibility
10:54of regularizing foreign migrants or repatriating them.
11:02The President of Mexico, Claudio Chimbao, announced having submitted a proposal for
11:05reforming the Constitution to safeguard 59 corn breeds and ban the sowing of genetically
11:11modified corn.
11:13Today, here in Puerto Escondido, I would like to inform you that the constitutional reform
11:21for safeguarding our corn has already been sent to the Congress of the Union.
11:25It is a reform to Article 4 and Article 27 of the Constitution, which establishes corn
11:30as a national identity, an element of national identity, and concurrently, the prohibition
11:35to plant transgenic corn in our country, and to ensure that it is through agro-ecological
11:40techniques, that is, free of transgenics.
11:47Likewise the head of state, Claudio Chimbao, emphasized that corn is a Mesoamerican heritage
11:51that has fed millions of people inside and outside of Mexico.
12:00It's 59 breeds that have been found so far, which are a fundamental element of our country,
12:05of our history, of our people.
12:07They had been created here, in Mesoamerica.
12:10This marvelous Mesoamerican plant stemmed from wild plants, such as the tia cintal,
12:14which we Mexicans domesticated, and we feed with it, and a good portion of the world feed
12:18with it as well.

12:39to determine their immigration status.
12:41At least 1,300 people have been arrested and deported from the United States in the first
12:46wave of immigration raids.
12:48In response to the measures imposed by the Trump administration, thousands of people
12:52have gathered in several U.S. cities to protest against his immigration policies.
13:01And U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hexeth said Monday the military will keep assisting President
13:06Donald Trump's mass migrant deportations.
13:09Hexeth, confirmed by Republicans despite concern over his inexperience and alleged record of
13:14heavy drinking and domestic violence, is one of Trump's most contested Cabinet picks.
13:19A former news host made clear that he will work to carry out the president's hard-right
13:24agenda.
13:25Hexeth added that more executive orders are coming on removing diversity, equity, and
13:30inclusion programs from the Pentagon and reinstating troops who were pushed out because
13:35they failed to comply with COVID-19 vaccine mandates.

17:34states to discuss the tense situation created by the massive deportations of Latin American
17:39migrants.
17:44In Honduras, hundreds of sympathizers gathered at the concert Voices against the coup d'etat
17:49to celebrate three years of Xiomara Castro's government.
17:57It is an emblematic day because tomorrow President Xiomara Castro celebrates three years of being
18:03in government to dismantle centuries of injustice and to achieve a new political process of
18:11the democratic process in the country.
18:17I personally had the opportunity to be part of that great concert Voices against the coup

18:32with the conviction to continue fighting for our country and the re-foundation of our country.
