00:00And we go live to Caracas, Venezuela, this hour with Jorge Rodríguez,

00:03President of the National Assembly, who is offering statements. Let's listen.

00:09This year, 2025, is the record Guinness of Election, because until today,

00:17we have planned nine elections for this 2025. Three constitutional elections, National Assembly,

00:26Governor and Legislative Council, Town Mayors, and one might say three constitutional elections,

00:35but the truth is that there are five, because the election of the municipal councils is

00:44different from the election of mayors. We would be facing a problem if we didn't have the reforms

00:56of this National Assembly to carry out different electoral processes at the same time.

01:05As these reforms were carried out, and we have worked to promote political participation,

01:16I think this is an essential moment for the defense of peace and of the electoral results

01:27established by the Venezuelan people through their votes. I mean,

01:35regarding to deputy, I mean, is referring to something is crime and something is conversation.

01:44And using these dialogue processes and the mechanisms used by the constitution and democracy

01:51to attack that constitution and democracy. We are clear now that several processes of

02:00conversations with several sectors, mainly of the far right of Venezuela, were made by them,

02:08as Commander Chavez said, in a hidden way.

02:16So, it's enough. And I'm not only meaning to the law of political parties, the organic law of

02:26electoral processes to defend the republic, to defend peace, to defend ourselves from terrorism

02:34and fascism. The National Assembly has approved the organic law against blockade and in defense of

02:44the homeland. In that sense, I'm going to propose that the National Assembly

02:54give the task to the National Council to apply the instruments approved by the National Assembly.

03:06And I set an example,

03:08because since

03:17I'm a psychiatrist, some leaders of the opposition

03:26want to attack us because they studied in several universities. They started to say

03:34that the laws now are not fair. If three weeks ago the law was approved,

03:43they asked for more pressure and sanctions and actions against the republic.

03:54They are under the legal

03:57status of the organic law Libertadores Humanos Bolivares, and it has to be applied

04:04to them and their leaders and their political parties in Venezuela,

04:12mainly for the defense of the democratic expression,

04:15because the danger that is still present is that it has been proved that there is a sector of the

04:32political life in Venezuela that uses the elections and uses the positions of popular

04:40elections for conspiracy, for chaos, for thieves, for weapons trafficking, for people trafficking.

04:50Look what happened and the consequences that had for Venezuela, the election of the National

04:56Assembly of 2015, the consequences that had for Venezuela. Some mayors that are elected

05:08to accomplish their tasks, their duties, but they forget about it and you start to see how they

05:18traffic weapons, bring mercenaries to Venezuela, and use their position as mayors to allow the

05:27entrance of mercenaries and drug traffickers from Colombia to Venezuela. We need to defend

05:33the republic from that, and in that sense the law is very clear, and in that sense we need to ask

05:42and also watch out that the law is applied thoroughly. Those who called to kill, to burn,

05:54to attack the development of our economy cannot come now as nothing happened to say

06:05that he or she is a candidate and must be forgiven. We won't forgive this or anything else

06:14because you are in here or you are not. The constitution of the Republic of Venezuela

06:33is not a mess, it is not based in the political opportunities in turn, so I want to congratulate

06:46the National Electoral Council and we must accompany this process of organization

06:55of a moment so important as is the National Assembly and the legislature that will be

07:01installed in January 2026, and also to join in absolute peace the electoral events of governors

07:12and legislative councils in the regions. And I'm sure that by applying the laws and the requirements

07:22to be a candidate, the requirements encompass in the law of political parties, applying them

07:30without exception, can lead not only to an election, a peaceful election, but

07:40that by once the one who loses the elections stops saying it's a fraud, because they only

07:50recognize the elections in which they win. They didn't say fraud in 2015 nor in 2007,

08:01nor in the governorates they won. But in all the other elections, in all of them, they said fraud

08:09in 2004, in the presidential election of 2006, in the presidential election of 2007.

08:18They didn't take part in the one of 2008. They said it was a fraud, the election of governor

08:27of 2017. They didn't take part in the constituent assembly election. None of them

08:35took part in the election of the parliament of 2020. And all of it with the same structure

08:41and functioning of the National Electoral Council. So it is something insane.

08:48And their mind is ruined. It means that when they win the elections,

09:01everything works perfectly fine. But if they lose, then it is a fraud.

09:09Then it must be established as the National Electoral Council that one of the requirements

09:18must be the recognition sign before the National Electoral Council of the electoral result,

09:26whatever it is. From now, I propose to President Nicolás Maduro that no matter what it is the

09:36result of the elections of the National Assembly and governors of the State Assembly of April 2025,

09:46the United Socialist Party of Venezuela and the Great Patriotic Poll will recognize all of the

09:51electoral results that come from the polls on April 27. And we accept the challenge and the

10:01invitation. Deputy Bernabe Gutiérrez, we have a mouth and tongue to talk a lot and to visit

10:14every corner of this republic, not only in electoral times, not only when elections are

10:21taking place, but every day at any moment of this Bolivarian revolution. Let's go to the streets,

10:29let's go to the neighborhoods, let's go to the cities, let's go to the communal circuits,

10:34let's go to the towns to catch any vote and the revolution will

10:42triumph in the elections of the next April 27, 2025.

10:57Parliament, in this debate that took place of the call.

11:07The Electoral Council of the Republic of Venezuela, complying with its duty,

11:14announced the development of national elections to elect the deputies for the National Assembly

11:21and the governors and the legislators of the legislative councils on the next April 27, 2025.

11:33This electoral process corresponds to the constitutional obligation of guaranteeing

11:40the obligation of the authorities, through the participation of the Venezuelan people,

11:48to make effective the principles of transparency, equality, trust, impartiality and efficiency

11:59that describe the system of Venezuela, in conformity with Article 293 of the Constitution

12:07of Venezuela. The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has celebrated 31 electoral constitutional processes

12:17where the people of Venezuela have been victorious, through the active participatory

12:25and peaceful participation in the public processes, as an example of real democracy

12:32and commitment to continue to grant in a free and sovereign way our Bolivarian independence.

12:40All the organizations of political nature and candidates involved in the upcoming elections

12:50called by the National Electoral Council for April 27, 2025, must sign a document

12:59in which they commit to respect and comply with all of the events regarding the electoral process,

13:06mainly the results issued by the National Electoral Council as a public power of the

13:14Venezuelan state. They agree, first, to back the electoral process called by the National

13:22Electoral Council that will take place on April 27, 2025, for the election of deputies for the

13:29National Assembly, as well as the governors of the states and the legislators of the legislative

13:39councils of the states, on April 27, 2025. Second, to support the call of the National

13:48Electoral Council that all the organizations of political nature, candidates and all of them,

13:57respect and comply with the events regarding the electoral process, mainly the results issued by

14:04the National Electoral Council as a constitutional power of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,

14:11since not complying with it will lead to the imposition of sanctions. Third,

14:21watching for the application of the law, particularly the organic law, Libertad y

14:31Human Bolivar, against the blockade of imperialism and in defense of the Bolivarian Republic of

14:37Venezuela in all of the stages of the electoral process. Fourth, to publish the agreement in the

14:45official Gazette of the Republic of Venezuela in conformity with what was established in the

14:52Article 136 of the National Assembly, signed in the Legislative Palace, Headquarters of the National

15:02Assembly in Caracas, to the 48 days of January, year 2014 of the independence, 165 of the Federation

15:14and 25 of the Bolivarian Revolution. That's all, Citizen President. Thank you, Secretary.

15:31Simply, President, I'm wondering something. I have certain suspicions.

15:41I suspect that I might find Deputy Melilla here from January 2026. In that agreement,

15:51is the present the recognition of the presidential election that took place recently, on July

16:01last year, is it included the recognition of that? Because I supported Luis Eduardo Martínez,

16:10and I didn't win, and I recognized the results of the National Electoral Council.

16:17I didn't want the president who won

16:24did it. I did everything possible to assure the win of Luis Eduardo Martínez.

16:33So, I'm wondering, that is worrying that the one who has to take a position in a legislative

16:43court forgets the scams were in front, and they keep to accompany the tourist agency

16:53and recognition abroad. I supported Luis Eduardo Martínez, and I wanted him to become president.

17:00I didn't support the president of the republic. I supported Luis Eduardo Martínez. That is why I

17:06found weird that I'm willing to sign this agreement, but saying that who win is the one

17:16who win, but it cannot be possible that the ones who didn't want must be present in a town hall

17:26or council. So, therefore, president, I don't know if I didn't hear well, but I want to propose

17:36to include the recognition of the past election. That's all, president. Thank you, deputy. We

17:43approved an agreement of support and recognition of the events of July 28th, but I think the spirit

17:51of Deputy Correa is correct. And then we are reinforcing the recognition of the electoral

18:04events that take place in Venezuela. I'm in agreement. Deputies, honorable deputies in favor

18:37has expressed the position of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela to recognize

18:42the results of the elections of April 27th, and they will address the electoral council
