00:00Today, the Department of Labor and Employment launched a job-finding platform, CareerCon 2025.

00:07150 employers applied, and this is one of the biggest job fairs this year.

00:15DOLE is also hoping that many of our Filipino countrymen who became POGO workers will apply for the job fair.

00:23This is what Clayzel Pardilla reported.

00:26It's hard to find someone who can afford to apply for a job, especially someone like Justin who just graduated from college.

00:36My expenses include going to the job fair, or applying for a job face-to-face.

00:44In order to help someone like Justin, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. brought the job closer to the Filipinos.

00:53Today, the Department of Labor and Employment launched a job-finding platform of 5,000 jobs in CareerCon 2025.

01:03This is one of the biggest job fairs this year.

01:06150 employers applied, and 18,000 applicants registered.

01:13The job fair's goal is to bring jobs closer to the Filipinos, and to reduce the number of Filipinos without a job.

01:20At least, you don't have to go to every company, you don't have to submit resumes or interviews,

01:31because it's also an expense, especially if you go to different companies.

01:35Here, it's just one trip.

01:37The number of non-employed Filipinos is decreasing, but we're not done yet.

01:45Whatever job they hold, it should be a quality job that has potential to be promoted.

01:57Most of the jobs are in information and technology, hotel and restaurant, and healthcare industry.

02:04Not only here in the Philippines, but also in other countries.

02:08This is where Crystal is looking for.

02:10My current job is admin. It's far from the course I finished, which is tourism.

02:16So, I want to do a career shift.

02:19According to DOLE, aside from entry-level jobs, there are vacancy positions in senior roles that have high salaries.

02:28The agency hopes that many former POGO workers will apply.

02:33The government is really working hard to close their companies.

02:39They are asking for help.

02:40Career coaching and masterclasses are also included in the event,

02:44to improve the skills of workers who are given free tests.

02:49Before, like I said, it's up to us to apply.

02:53It's up to us to see if we can get it or not.

02:56Now, we are giving them new skills or upskilling.

03:02We are making them better in what they are doing.

03:05If they succeed, they will have a big job fair every month,

03:10not only in Metro Manila, but also in other parts of the country.

03:15In November 2024, 49.54 million Filipinos will have jobs.

03:23DOLE is ready to help Filipinos in America who may be deported.
