00:00The European Union or EU is supportive of any programs or initiatives that will put an end to child labor in the country.

00:08Philippine Information Agency Cordilleras' Debbie Kasingan tells us more.

00:15The European Union expresses its support for the various programs of the Philippine government

00:19and its partner civil society organizations in eliminating child labor in the country.

00:25Ambassador Massimo Santoro, head of the EU delegation visiting Baguio City, said

00:29the EU and its member states have been very active in supporting the works of CSOs,

00:34especially in protecting the rights of children.

00:36Like the Philippines, the European Union, together with its member states,

00:40is very much committed to the protection and promotion of human rights across the globe,

00:45including every child's right to live free from discrimination and intimidation.

00:50To eradicate child labor, the EU is involved in several projects and programs across the globe,

00:55including the CLEARCAR project, or Child Labor Effective Awareness and Response in Cordillera Administrative Region.

01:02The EU co-funded the three-year project, which is being executed by the World Vision Development Foundation,

01:08Inc., and Linga Pangkabataan, Inc., with World Vision Canada and World Vision Ireland.

01:15Take part in addressing this critical issue and to create and play a vital role

01:22in creating a society of communities that are safe and promote learning and thriving.

01:29We cannot do it alone.

01:31We need partnerships like the World Vision and other organizations

01:35who are promoting the well-being of our children.

01:37During the recent CLEARCAR project lunch and stakeholder dialogue in Baguio,

01:42the significant accomplishments of the project were presented to the EU delegation.

01:46The 18 European Ambassadors are in Baguio City from January 27 to 29

01:51for the European Union Green Economy Program in the country.
