00:25The House Committee on Labor and Employment has already approved the bill for the 200 pesos daily minimum legislated wage hike for all workers in the private sector.

00:36This happened one day after several labor groups and congressmen spoke about it, led by House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

00:46The current daily minimum wage in the NCR is 645 pesos.

00:52It is stated in the bill that all employers in the private sector, whether agricultural or non-agricultural,

00:59and whatever their capital and number of employees, must pay the 200 pesos increase.

01:06The workers will be charged 50,000 to 100,000 pesos and will be imprisoned for two to four years.

01:15That's four years. It's been more than eight months since the hearing because we need to give the right opportunity to all groups,

01:32But according to the Employers Confederation of the Philippines, the benefits will be limited.

01:44If the minimum wage is approved by the legislative wage hike, only 16 percent of the 52 million are benefited.
