00:00Welcome to Mojo Plays and today we're getting super specific, let's find a long ass series
00:13with a long ass list of items and find the toughest among them.
00:16Hey, Final Fantasy, get over here.
00:18These are the 10 hardest items to get in Final Fantasy games.
00:22These items require a lot of patience and sometimes a lot of skill, but mostly a lot
00:27of patience and some skills.
00:29And patience and skill, let's go.
00:31Before we continue, we publish content all week long, so be sure to subscribe and ring
00:35the bell to get notified of our latest videos.
00:39Gold Chocobo Final Fantasy 7 The Chocobo is a rideable, flightless bird
01:03that debuted in Final Fantasy 2 and has since become one of the most iconic elements of
01:07the Final Fantasy series.
01:08This is so not the place or time to bring this up, but my buddy Aiden used to call them
01:13Chobokos, and I had to digest that knowledge, so now so do you.
01:17Chocobos have served many roles, from helping players travel faster to being central to
01:22breeding and racing minigames.
01:23While Chocobos are everywhere across the games, one type stands out as especially rare, and
01:29that's the Gold Chocobo introduced in Final Fantasy 7.
01:32To obtain it, players must breed a black Chocobo with a special yellow Chocobo using a Zeonut,
01:38requiring several generations of breeding.
01:40And breeding is really frustrating, and is a long ordeal.
01:43The Gold Chocobo is the games best variant, and does not look un-similar enough to the
01:48regular Chocobo to justify the time you've just invested.
01:57Tournasol Final Fantasy XII
02:11Final Fantasy XII took players offline and into the world of Ivalice, and although it
02:15had a lot of standout weapons, one standout weapon introduced in this instalment is the
02:19stunning Tournasol, a golden sword adorned with the sun and moon symbols on its hilt.
02:25Not only is it visually breathtaking, but it's also the strongest weapon in the game,
02:30which makes sense that requiring it is a painful ball ache.
02:34To synthesize it, players must first synthesize three key items, each of which requires its
02:39own set of ingredients, many of which are extremely difficult to gather.
02:43One of these components must be stolen from the optional super boss Zodiark.
02:47Additionally, players need to part with 600,000 gil.
02:51To make things more confusing, fake Tournasols appear in the game, wielded by the boss Gilgamesh.
02:56Bloody Gilgamesh.
03:01The Stellazio Coins Final Fantasy IX
03:18References to the Zodiark are a recurring theme throughout the Final Fantasy series,
03:22with Zodiark themed items and summons often making appearances.
03:25Just take a second to think about that, because I didn't catch that till researching this
03:28list.
03:29One such set of items is the Stellazio Coins, introduced in Final Fantasy IX.
03:34The Stellazio Coins consist of 13 rare coins, and these coins must be gathered in order,
03:40with Stella rewarding the player for each one they present.
03:43Each coin contains a clue to finding the next, but the 13th and final coin requires a more
03:49intricate process.
03:50Players must piece together the clues from the previous 12 coins in their item screen
03:53to uncover a new hint, or alternatively, just sell the game.
04:07Ribbon Final Fantasy VIII
04:16The Ribbon is one of the most iconic items in the Final Fantasy series.
04:19As an accessory, it grants protection against nearly every status effect in the game.
04:23While some installments limit its availability by gender, such as Final Fantasy Tactics,
04:28it is generally accessible to all characters.
04:30However, Final Fantasy VIII is the one title where many players never even had the chance
04:34to obtain the Ribbon.
04:35This is because it required the use of the Pocket Station, a Japan-exclusive device that
04:40worked with specific PlayStation games and allowed them to be loaded onto a portable
04:44handheld device.
04:45When used with Final Fantasy VIII, the Pocket Station enabled the Chocobo World minigame,
04:50which was the only way to obtain the Ribbon ability for a Guardian Force.
04:53So while technically it's not hard to get when you have the equipment, the Japanese
04:56exclusivity made it really difficult for a young Australian boy way back in 1999.
05:02Excalibur II Final Fantasy IX
05:04In the early days of gaming, rumours on the playground circulated about insanely difficult
05:08ways to unlock items and cheats.
05:10Who could forget the wild theories about finding Mew near the truck by the SS Anne in Pokemon
05:15Red and Blue?
05:16Final Fantasy IX embraced this kind of absurdity by including an equally ridiculous method
05:21to obtain one of its best items.
05:22The Excalibur II, Steiner's ultimate weapon, can only be obtained by reaching the final
05:27dungeon, Memoria, in under 12 hours.
05:30If you're even a second late, the sword is lost forever.
05:33For players using PAL systems, the challenge is even greater as the game ran at only 5-6
05:38of the speed of the NTSC version, leaving them just 10 hours to reach the final dungeon.
05:43Another loss for Australia.
05:44First it was the box jellyfish, and now it's Final Fantasy IX?
05:48Pink Tail Final Fantasy IV The After Years
05:51Final Fantasy IV, originally released as Final Fantasy II in North America, was the first
05:55title in the series to launch on the SNES, and is widely regarded as a groundbreaking
06:00release and one of the best RPGs ever made.
06:03The Pink Tail, a recurring item in the series, made its debut in this game.
06:07It's a rare drop from the Flan Princess, which only appears in one specific room in
06:11Lunar Subterranean.
06:13The Pink Tail is even harder to obtain in Final Fantasy IV The After Years, where the
06:16Flan Princess appears in a more specific location, and only during a full moon.
06:21However, it's worth the effort in both games as it's required to obtain the Adamant
06:25Armor and Pink Armor, respectively.
06:27Onion Knight Final Fantasy X All of the celestial weapons for the characters
06:35in Final Fantasy X are a pain to acquire, and like the rest, the most powerful weapon
06:39wielded by Black Mage Lulu in Final Fantasy X is the Onion Knight, which is powered by
06:44the Venus Sigil.
06:45Technically it's the sigil that's hard to get, but you need it to get the Onion Knight,
06:48so that's why the entry says Onion Knight.
06:51Also, get off my back.
06:52To acquire this sigil, players must travel to the Thunder Plains and simply dodge lightning
06:56bolts.
06:57200 times, to be exact.
06:59The counter isn't visible during the process, so you have to keep track of it yourself.
07:03Leaving the area or saving and quitting will reset your progress, so you must remain focused
07:08and persistent.
07:09Once you've dodged 200 bolts, a chest containing the Venus Sigil will appear.
07:13This can take 30 minutes of uninterrupted focus and lightning fast reflexes, pun intended.
07:28Serpentarius Final Fantasy Tactics
07:37Not only are the mainline Final Fantasy games considered classics, but some of the spin-offs.
07:42One notable example is Final Fantasy Tactics, released on the PS1.
07:45Despite the gameplay differences, many familiar elements from the Final Fantasy franchise
07:49remain, including notoriously hard to find items.
07:53Among the rarest are the Zodiac Stones, which contain the spirits of demons known as Lucari.
07:58The most elusive is the 13th stone, Serpentarius, which can only be acquired after defeating
08:03the boss Elidipus in the final level of Midnight's Deep.
08:06And trust me, this boss is way harder than dodging 200 lightning bolts.
08:16King of Jump Rope Final Fantasy IX
08:26Many items on this list are powerful weapons and upgrades that enhance the player's combat
08:30abilities or unlock additional rewards.
08:32However, not every hard-to-obtain item in the Final Fantasy series proves useful in
08:36gameplay.
08:37Some hold only sentimental value, and the chumps who collect those have a special place
08:41reserved for them in Nerd Hell.
08:43It's like Nerd Heaven, but the Wi-Fi cuts out constantly.
08:46Early in Final Fantasy IX, players control the young black mage Vivi as he explores the
08:50city of Alexandria.
08:52During this time, Vivi can encounter a group of children who invite him to play a jump
08:56rope minigame, a challenging button-mashing activity with several prizes.
09:01If the player manages to complete 1,000 consecutive jumps, Vivi earns the title of King of Jump
09:07Rope and receives a commemorative item.
09:09However, this item has literally no use in the game.
09:13Congrats, you played yourself.
09:22Sight and Grat Bow Final Fantasy XII
09:30This final entry isn't hard because of skill, or even really patience, although you'll need
09:35a lot of it.
09:36It's hard because of pure dumb luck.
09:39The Sight and Grat Bow becomes obtainable once the player can access the Sky Ferry.
09:43On the deck of the Sky Ferry, there is a 1% chance for an invisible chest to spawn.
09:48If it appears, there's a 20% chance it will contain an item, and with the Diamond Armlet
09:53equipped, there is a 5% chance that the item will be the Sight and Grat.
09:58This results in a 1 in 10,000 chance of obtaining the Sight and Grat each time the deck is entered,
10:04provided the player even knows the chest exists.
10:07If you knew there was a 1 in 10,000 chance of choking to death every time you ate a burger,
10:11you'd literally lower your burger intake by 0.
10:14Those are great odds.
