00:00Uh, you know, the big story coming out of this for Ohio State was definitely a strange one,
00:03as their defensive coordinator ends up going to Penn State. Now, Bill, in years past,
00:09you know, you and I growing up, you would never see anything like this. A coordinator
00:13leaving to go against a rival in the same conference. But look, I suppose if the players
00:18can do it, why can't the coaches? Yeah, and leaving on the day that they're celebrating
00:24a national championship in Ohio Stadium, and so he wasn't there. And so, a couple layers to this,
00:30for Ohio State, who do they hire next? That's one of the best coordinator positions in all of
00:35college football. You're inheriting, uh, you're going to have to fix some things, because like
00:40I said, a lot of those guys are going to go to the NFL, but you still have Caleb Downs,
00:44who is arguably the best player in college football, if Jeremiah Smith isn't. So Ohio State
00:49will be able to build off those guys. As for Penn State, what a pickup. By the way, Penn State has
00:55ranked in the top 10 in scoring defense each of the last four years. Manny Diaz did a nice job
01:00there. Tom Allen did a nice job there. And now you bring in Jim Newells, who has a little bit
01:06of a different scheme. It relies on the safety quite a bit, but he's going to do things the way
01:10he wants. And I thought announcing it while Ohio State was celebrating was one of those petty
01:16things we love about college football.
