00:00Wendy Williams and her efforts to get out of this legal guardianship.
00:04You know that she is at an assisted living facility in New York City which she calls
00:10a luxury prison and that she cannot get incoming calls.
00:15She is now taking a step and is clearly taking steps to try and get out from under this and
00:22it started for her with making a change in lawyer.
00:26She has or had a court appointed lawyer that is Linda Redlisky who is appointed by the
00:33court to look out for Wendy's best interests and Wendy felt like she was not doing that
00:39and so yesterday she fired her.
00:42What Wendy wanted Linda to do was to file documents to get a trial so that Wendy could
00:49get the, could dissolve the guardianship and she did not like the results she was getting
00:55from Linda because those were no results.
00:58What we're told is Linda never filed the paperwork that Wendy wanted and so she fired her.
01:05That kind of makes sense then.
01:06Yeah, it makes sense because Wendy is ready to get out of this conservatorship or this
01:09guardianship I should say.
01:11She doesn't want a guardian.
01:12She wants to be able to travel to Florida.
01:13She wants to be able to go to her dad's birthday party that's coming up.
01:17She just wants to be out of this.
01:18She feels like she is in jail essentially and that she's perfectly fine so she feels
01:23like she doesn't need this and that this is totally against her will.
01:26She doesn't want it so it's no surprise that she fired Linda.
01:29The thing that's at play here is how exactly do you dissolve this guardianship if you want
01:34it?
01:35How do you go about it?
01:36I don't even know that she needs a jury trial but she does need a judge to weigh in and
01:40you remember in Brittany's case she had to get a lawyer outside of the one appointed
01:45by the court.
01:46She, in her case, got Matt Rosengart and that's how she fought this and how she got it in
01:51front of a judge to end up getting her conservatorship dissolved.
01:57Wendy may have to go the same route.
01:59April from Philly, I think this is one of many steps that Wendy is going to have to
02:03take in order to be reunited with her family and her money.
02:07I do not think that this attorney was acting in her best interest and I hope that her switching
02:12attorneys is going to help expedite this process for her.
02:14How do you afford an attorney if you don't have access to your own money?
02:18That's why I feel like the catch-22 here where you can't-
02:21There's a GoFundMe that's out there and what we're told is that's the reason for that GoFundMe
02:26is Wendy's trying to be able to afford an attorney on her own.
