Everton boss David Moyes on the issue of referee abuse ahead of their Premier League clash with Leicester
Finch Farm, Liverpool, UK
Transcript
00:00Just wanted to start on the abuse suffered, or that's been highlighted by referees at the moment as well,
00:06particularly highlighted by what Michael Oliver's had to deal with on social media as well.
00:11Just wondering what responsibility is there for players, coaches, even the media as well, to set the right example?
00:17Well, it's a disgrace that any of the referees would come for any criticism, because they do an incredible job.
00:24I believe that we've got the best group of referees there is in Europe, I've always thought that.
00:30I've had the chance to work in Spain and I still think that the referees over here are the best ones there is.
00:35It's terrible that people would do that, but we're in a world, sadly, where whether it be referees or football managers or football players, it can happen.
00:45But I have to say that I think the referees, and Michael Oliver especially, has been an excellent referee over the years, and still is.
